I should have added "best ACTION baseball PC game"?
I don't play the strategy type ones.
Then MLB 2K12 is on the PC, and there is a community modding it with fresh rosters and such.
Any links?
I cannot find MLB2K12 for the PC anywhere to buy, download or anything! It's not even listed on the 2K site!
I don't want to go the torrents route because of viruses and malware. There are so many pc game download
sites out there that trick you into thinking they are legit now.

Definitely. It's the perfect game for the iPad...not so much on a console. A little too simple for my tastes on there, but I get where they are going with it.
Surprisingly, the game plays quite well on the iPad and looks very sharp. It's a little difficult fielding particularly in the outfield in terms of judging fly balls. I'll probably use assisted fielding even though that's not my preference. I played a game a half. I was bored mid way through the second game. I guess it's a bit too simplistic for my tastes, and quite generic with regards to player models, variety of pitches, etc. Still, there's some fun to be had, but can't imagine playing a full season. But I'll pick it up every now and then when I'm bored or visiting the in-laws in Chicago.
I will say it's not that easy to hit, and think it may frustrate some younger kids. It's pretty difficult to lay off pitches, and you'll hit quite a few nubbers on the infield. It does feel pretty good when you guess right and smack a home run. Running the bases is easy and very welcome as opposed to other baseball games I've played. Pitching is pretty strategic and more times than not, you can get the CPU opponent to chase pitches out of the strike zone. They don't take many pitches at all. The CPU is fairly aggressive on the base paths, although most times they'll take first when it's apparent they could have stretched the hit in to a double.
It's probably a better multi-player game on the consoles if online is not an added feature for the iPad. Still, I don't find it being worth $20 for the console version, especially if stats aren't kept. And while the controls are quite responsive on the mobile device, I still prefer a controller.
All in all, it's worth the $5 as I'm sure my son will get more enjoyment out of it than I will.

So it is comparable to The Show.
Seriously, once it was clear that this was going to be a cheap arcade game, I never gave it a chance. It had all the signs of a being developed by guys that think arcade games are easy to make because they are so simple. I like a good arcade game of almost any type, but I also realize that there is an art to making a game simple and compelling. And for me, price doesn't matter. I don't want to waste my time for $5 any more than I do for $20. I have slew of good XBLA games I can play that don't try to insult me by acting like simplicity is the draw.
As far as I'm concerned, Xbox still does not have a baseball game on their systems.
No, it's RBI Baseball with a new coat of paint. It only uses two buttons, so I'm guessing most of these guys in here don't know what to do with the other 6-8 buttons and the rest of their fingers...lol. It's just pretty straightforward baseball. Old school.
It's sad that in this day and age, The Show is the only viable baseball video game out there.
Who knew that I was in the middle of the "golden days of baseball gaming" over 15 years ago.
AllStar baseball, High Heat, MVP, Hardball, 2K, MS Baseball....etc. What happened???
The technology got better and the competition went away.....sad.

That would be more accurate and the same applies to the NBA, NFL, NHL, College Hoops and Football games as well.
True, but the baseball situation really hit home for me. Back in the video game heyday, I never dreamed baseball (and other sports games) would
be the "rock & roll" of video games.
