Paul, thanks for sharing that picture. It truly does say a thousand words and even if I didn't read the rest of your post I would have known how much you meant to each other. I'm sorry to hear about your loss.
Re: Farewell to a DSP legend: John the Cat
My sympathies man. Losing a pet is always tough. I get sad when I see old photos of our past cats, include a tabby Maine Coon and tabby Persian. Love the tabby colors, and John looked to be a fine example. You of anyone knows how finicky a cat can be with relationships, and he sounds like he was a real gem. A devoted cat to you and those around. No doubt he'll be missed around your household.
Re: Farewell to a DSP legend: John the Cat
Sorry for your loss Paul. It was just earlier this year I asked you on XBL what kind of "dog" John was. He was obviously one hell of a cat and faithful companion.

It's never easy losing a pet. I'm sorry for your loss, Kelly clan. At least he lived a long, happy life. I'll raise one for John tonight.

I'm sorry, PK, that is such a tough loss. It sounds like John lived a hell of a feline life.

Appreciate all of your kind words, fellas.
We gave each other the virtual reacharound in the recent "10 Years" thread, but this thread is yet another example that DSP is a special place.
Thank you.

Paul I'm very sorry for your loss, and very glad to hear that he had a good long life. We have three cats who are getting on in age and I hate to think that eventually we'll have to say goodbye to them. Truly cats are wonderful creatures that bring much joy to our lives.
Take care,
Doug

PK - Sorry for your loss. 18 years is a good life and something tells me you made it the best damn life a cat can have.

Glad to read about the good memories this cat provided you, Paul. I never played online with you so I never "met" this cat, but it sounds like he had a big impact.

XXXIV said it best: John was the Official Cat of DSP. He was so cool that he pissed ice cubes.fletcher21 wrote:Glad to read about the good memories this cat provided you, Paul. I never played online with you so I never "met" this cat, but it sounds like he had a big impact.

Sorry to hear about your loss Paul. We have had to put 2 of our pets down this year. We had a 15 year old pug and 20 year old cat. It is never easy and I empathize with you and your family.

Re: Farewell to a DSP legend: John the Cat
Sorry to hear the sad news. Been through it with a cat we got before we got married and stuck around for 17 years. It was a lot harder than I thought it would be! I will be thinking good thoughts about the 18 years you guys had together. Damn, I wish one of my current cats could gets some work done and lower the rodent population around my yard!

Condolences. We lost our beloved dog earlier this year, unlike John, Napoleon died too young at 7 years old (yes, Napoleon is the dog as my avatar).
I hope you remember John everyday. God bless.

Cats are the pets I prefer, so I feel your pain. Our cat, Spyro, (yes - named after the videogame dragon), is approaching middle age (8). He's a hoot and still a playful thing with a mean side.
He's one of the family, so I grieve with you. My sincerest condolences.

Yep, I've always been a cat man. Resisting the urge to make a p*ssy pun.
Thanks for the kind words.
