Yes, sir. I've had the pleasure of meeting Pigpen and Spooky at Indianapolis Motor Speedway events, and I work with Neckthai. Would like to meet more of you cats. I'll bring John if he's still alive.Sudz wrote:Didn't somebody go hang with PK and neckthai at the indy 500?

Yep - was great to meet Mr. PK500 in the flesh. Jeez, that must have been getting close to 10 years ago now too. There was a picture floating around for proof but I don't think I have it anymore.pk500 wrote:Yes, sir. I had hair and weighed probably 230 then. I'm bald and weigh 192 now. Please don't scour for that old shot!Spooky wrote:Yep - was great to meet Mr. PK500 in the flesh. Re: 10 Years...
I'm almost strictly a lurker these days as I almost never game anymore but I still check the boards every single day. I was around in the SR days and I really appreciate the group that posts here.
My favorite online gaming memory is setting up the Xbox in my basement and trying to keep up with everyone on MotoGP; my family knew to let me have my uninterrupted hour or so on race night. So much fun. It was cool seeing BBReBozo in the Forza clip posted today, that dude was seriously fast in MotoGP. I've continued to subscribe to Xbox Live in the thought I would get back into something like that but I never have. Luckily, my boys do some online gaming so it isn't just wasted money!
I visit one other forum regularly, one devoted to RBI Baseball on the NES (don't judge). That group of guys has gotten together several times for weekends devoted to gaming, drinking, and shenanigans. I finally went to my first one in August. It was held in Chicago and we had about fifteen attendees. It was a great time, I highly recommend pushing for a DSP Fest™.

"The only constant in life is change"
Except this place.
Regardless of what's going on in our lives we come here...Every damn day. Our common interest in games is our excuse to visit. However, while here we can also celebrate a new marriage, a promotion or the birth of a child. We login while enduring hard times such as divorce or when a parent passes away. We come here because it's one thing that doesn't change. We come here because these invisible people are real... and real can be very hard to find.

Years of greatness; I don't visit as often as I used to, but I still look to this board as the best place for honest opinions on anything from video games to life and career. Thanks boys!

Re: 10 Years...
I was 18 when I first registered - I got here via staffing at Calvert Games (JC, where you at?) and recall feeling almost traitorous upon signing up at DSP - and feel like I finished growing up among the good folk here. Some of you helped me to do that with a kindness you didn't have to show a teenage total stranger. I'm 28 now and have never forgotten that, nor do I ever intend to. You could have warned me about the hair loss and the greying temples, mind...
You're my mates, my trusted advisors, my gaming buddies and a big enough part of my routine that even my girlfriend refers to the racing poker night crowd by name. (Yes, since you ask, she is quite a tolerant woman.) I'm even half-tempted by the prospect of the DSP Fest - Atlantic Ocean be damned.

Don't judge??? That's awesome. To this day that game is my favorite 2-player vs sports game.fatheadX wrote:I visit one other forum regularly, one devoted to RBI Baseball on the NES (don't judge).
I love the idea that in 2013 there is a forum devoted to that game.

Re: 10 Years...
Yea and I've discovered a few new maladies like plantar fasciitis and gout (and don't let that relatively innocent sounding term fool you, I wouldn't wish that sh!t on anyone, put my a$$ down for 4 days.) But still climbing on roofs ,or up 2 and 3 stories of scaffolding or ladders to do my job, so all in all I'm not doing to bad for an old geezXXXIV wrote:Holy crap.
