Hockey Night @DSP Season 13-14

Post by 10spro »

Each NHL team is in the middle of pre-season games and while coaches are trying to find the best players to start the season next week, some things never change like the idiocy that happened last night between BUF and TOR. Here's J. Scott a towering 6'8 trying to jump on 5' f**k all P. Kessel who's trying to get some wood out of his stick. Even the goalies got involved, the league has to clean up crap like this. And Clarkson, the new great acquisition by the Leafs appear to have the same IQ as Scott as he gets an automatic 10 games suspension.

Kessel should be suspended in this mess...slashing a player engaged in a fight, and then he gets into a fight...after the fight is over picks up his stick and attempts to spear Scott.

He slashed a player who tried to jump him. The Slashes were pretty weak and he kept them very low, practically in the skates. And that "spear" was nothing more than nudge. I don't even like Kessel or the Leafs. Kessel will probably get suspended and I don't see anything wrong with that. You shouldn't use your stick like that. But Scott is just as much of a "p***y", as a lot of fans are calling Kessel. He went out and picked the smallest, skilled guy out there and tried to start wailing on him. That to me shows an intent to injure just as much as using a stick to slash a guys legs. He did this all because he didn't like that his idiot teammate had just picked a fight with a much bigger guy and got his ass handed to him.

Zach Kassian got eight games for breaking Gagner's jaw over the weekend for reckless use of his stick, so Kessel who knew what he was doing should be getting a similar punishment if not more.

Damn, it's just preseason! These guys need to slow their roll a bit. It is nice to have the NHL back for a full season. Looking forward to the Flyers opener vs Toronto on Tuesday :)

The season starts tonight puckheads, as the Habs hosts the Leafs along two other match ups. It'll be the usual suspects fighting for a spot for the Cup this year, Hawks in the west, Pens in the east while I don't have any expectations whatsoever for the Canucks this year under John Tortorella. New division, new rivalries as facing the California teams won't be a walk in the park for VAN as it's been in the previous NW division. The new coach has been saying all the right things so far, his temper under control but it won't take long I don't think for the media to start dissecting Torts when the results don't show up.

He'll be shocked at the amount of travel he'll have to deal with, instead of traveling in trains and buses and I think they'll just sneak in the playoffs spot in the end in the tough western conference. Nucks start their season on Thursday against the Sharks.

Hybrid icing is officially in.

That Charlestown Chief-esque ending to the Avalanche-Ducks game was great. Move over Peyton Manning, there's a new sheriff in town (or back in town), and his name is Patrick Roy.

The way Torts wants the entire team to sacrifice their limbs while playing D, already has his first casualty after only one game as Burrows is gone for a month after blocking a shot.

How will this team react when one of the twins get injured doing the same thing?

Home opener against the Oils tonight.

Welcome back Tim Thomas. Your team is going the have the number 1 draft pick next year.

With some beautiful Sedinery, Canucks get their home opener with a win 6-2 vs the Oils.

Laviolette will be the first coach fired, but it should have happened in March or April.

I agree they should have fired him in March, but now, why keep him for the last quarter of last season and all of training camp to dump him so quickly this season? Poor management.

Laviolette, needed to go, but this is a textbook example of how NOT to change coaches.

J. Quick made some big saves last night against A. Vigneault's new team but just couldn't stop this one.

Good game going between Canucks and Jersey, with both Schneider and Luongo starting. Yeah, no controversy tonight, although still strange seeing Corey in another uniform. Both goalies have been solid so far.

Mike Smith's goal that crossed the goal line with .1 seconds to go in the game.
