Penguins had their arena filled to capacity last night and it was televised locally also. Looking forward to the start of the season with Pens/Flyers this Saturday afternoon!

This picture shows exactly why Bettman and the owners won't hesitate to lock out the players when the new CBA expires.

I think it worked to the NHL's advantage. Like starving someone then feeding them their favorite food.pk500 wrote:This picture shows exactly why Bettman and the owners won't hesitate to lock out the players when the new CBA expires.
Re: Hockey Night - 2013
The ticket line at HP Pav. was around the building and two streets down. guess people will come back regardless of what happened. I checked the ticket prices, still way too much after a lockout.

Re: Hockey Night - 2013
As I mentioned previously all Canadian arenas will be filled out if not already sold out. With a healthy Crosby and Malkin, I think the Pens are the team to beat in the East while The Blues could win the western conference this year.

This is pretty worthless so far on the first day of the season. Can't access the broadcasts on any of my devices.. iphone. xbox or laptop. The PS3 app hasn't even been updated for the new season. Crazy.

I tried the iPad app and nothing loads at all, so I don't know if it's not up yet or what.FifaInspected wrote:Naples39 wrote:NHL GameCenter Live is available on XBL for the first time now.

The afternoon games today were on NBC though, and I'm pretty sure NBC broadcasts are not picked up by gamecenter anyway because they're on national TV. They were streamed on NBCsports.com, although the stream was pretty terrible for me. Constantly desynched video and sound, lots of video quality switches, and the player would practically lock up my computer when open.

Re: Hockey Night - 2013
Just got done watching Kings game on dvr. Yuck. Thought the pre game ceremonies where a little corny/overdone , well at least the skating of the cup again, slightly gay that was. Luckily i know where the ff button is located on my remote.
Hawks looked sharp Scoop.

Re: Hockey Night - 2013
Corey Schneider was named the starter for the 'Nucks and maybe the pressure just got to him. We are still in the second period and the not so Mighty Ducks look anything but. Five goals already, Corey got the hook, here comes Louie.

Flyers Pens was a very entertaining game...outside of the Pens win. The Flyers outplayed the Pens from about the midway point of the first IMO but that gets you nothing. I thought Bryz looked good which is a great sign. Passing by both teams was less than stellar but it got better as the game progressed. Hopefully the Flyers get one in Buffalo today.

Re: Hockey Night - 2013
Pens came in better prepared. Flyers didn't wake up until 15 minutes into game, but a 2 goal lead was enough for the Pens. It's hard to draw many conclusions with teams taking the ice in this unprepared state, but they won't have much time to sort it out either.Diablo25 wrote:Flyers Pens was a very entertaining game...outside of the Pens win. Re: Hockey Night - 2013
Yeah, it'll take a couple of weeks for some teams to start getting their chemistry together. In the absence of no preseason games, coaches will be experimenting for a bit yet. Problem is with the shorten season, every point is crucial and those players that played in Europe should have a slight advantage in terms of timing and being better prepared.Naples39 wrote:It's hard to draw many conclusions with teams taking the ice in this unprepared state, but they won't have much time to sort it out either.
Having said that, Canucks last night looked completely out of synch, couldn't paste two passes together that I can recall, and gave numerous odd man rushes to the Ducks in a rather festive mood. To make matters worse, Schneider had the jitters as he was named the starter and played poorly.
They better come prepared tonight against a dangerous, young, exciting Oil team or alarms are going to start sounding.
