I finally saw it tonight, and I really enjoyed it! It was very fun and satisfying in so many ways. There are a few things I wish they hadn't done, for a few different reasons (some Star Wars related, some movie related), but overall I thought it was really good.

I didn't mind the few "old fan" Easter eggs at all, but the ramping it up to 11, if you know what I am referring to, was a little much for me.

I wasn't sure if I wanted to see it in 3D, but as soon as that initial Star Wars and the text crawl were pulling away from the screen, I was, like "duh!" I knew it was the right choice. And there were a lot of really good 3D moments throughout, especially near the end.

It certainly does a lot to wash away the bad taste lingering from the prequels.

I guess I haven't gone to see a movie in awhile.

$19 for a movie ticket?

I remember seeing the Star Trek reboot in IMAX 3D, only because we had an offsite. I don't know what they charged back then.

It looked like s*** anyways, couldn't make sense of what was happening in some scenes. Recently saw the same movie on cable and it was better.

Guess it depends on the movie because some of the previews looked okay for 3D effects.

I saw it last night with my wife and I have to say that I was decidedly underwhelmed. I'm pretty amazed the reviews are so positive given its largely just a rehash of things from the first movie. Those aren't Easter eggs to fans - those are pretty much just the same scenes adapted with some new characters to go through them.

JJ really is a godamned hack...

Took my young ones to see it last weekend. Thanks 2 Diablo I also showed them a 7 minutes YouTube video of who is who, courtesy of IGN before we went. After telling myself to save the extra cash for the 3D experience, my 10 year old kept saying oh pleeease, oh pleeease and of course I caved in. Very cool.

They enjoyed the film, even though they didn't watch the previous ones. Gotta admit that Hans Solo looked young for a 73 years old man.

Also Forrest Whitaker's character is evidently from the Attack of the Clones.

Maybe it's just me that youtube embeds aren't working for, but I've seen it about 5 times anyway! This looks sooo good.

While Lucas' pre-quels were frankly bad kids movies for a target audience under 10 with some good stuff mixed in, this looks like we're finally getting kids who grew up watching Star Wars taking their love of the universe and making a more mature movie. The varying reports on re-shoots for this are a little concerning, but nevertheless this looks great.

More hype!

Yeah I use chrome browser and the embedded youtube videos stopped working for me a few days ago just on this site, tried internet explorer and it doesn't work there either but does work in firefox.

Just got back from seeing Rogue One and it was pretty good, movie starts off slow but second half was pretty much all action. Was cool to see Scarif on screen after playing on it in Battlefront.

Agreed. It was a good flick. Solid but not earth moving.

That first third was a tire fire, but it got better. Not great, but good enough. Characters were wafer-thin, even by Star Wars standards, but dexterity with which they tied the story into the mythology redeemed it.
