I've got it preordered. Played a ton of the first one. Went to the Borderlands 2 party last week at PAX, although that just ended up being an open bar and a bunch of trailers running on the bar TVs. The lines to play it on the show floor were full all weekend long. It was easily the most popular game there. From what I've seen it's a lot like the first one but with more story and more ways to make your character look and play unique. The developer said that the "quick" playthrough that the Bradygames guide writer did to see just the main story took about 60 hours. And that was with skipping all of the side quests and no exploration. Should eat up a lot of time. I'm planning my first playthrough as Zero, the ninja looking dude.

They have the skill trees available to experiment with on the web site:

http://www.borderlands2.com/us/skilltree/gunzerker.html

You can switch characters at the bottom of the screen.

It's basically a Diablo-style Loot fest wrapped in a First Person Co-Op Shooter.

You shoot, you kill, enemies explode into piles of loot, and you go grab everything like a kid on XMas morning.

Wash, rinse, repeat.

Trust me, the experience is much cooler than it sounds

I hope so...I have it on order and I think it looks really cool - but I continue to have doubts on whether the actual formula is something that will interest me.

One of my favorite games of all time, the original.. but I'm going to have to wait a bit so I can finish a few other games I haven't had time to play yet.

Got it this morning.
The game is more popular than I thought. About a dozen in line this morning and the clerk told me they had 100 in store last night for the midnight release.

Got it.

Never really cottoned to the first one until I played it multiplayer, but I'm going to give this a shot anyhow.

Got the Vault Hunter's Edition (had no idea they had one of those until my wife brought it home) and played...well, about 2 minutes of it.

Trying out a new game with a granddaughter screaming in my ear, my wife and mother babbling about something back and forth, and trying to experience the story and let the tone set in--not a good idea.

I'll give it another whirl after work.

I'm hopeful we can conjure up some time for MP so as to make the game very fun. That's what I'm in for.

My hours are beyond f*cked lately but I'd love to play when I can.

Was off today, so I got to play about 3 hours with my son. We both didn't want to stop. If you like shooting stuff with a "bazillion" different types of guns, this game is for you. I Image Claptrap.
