Diablo was never on a console as far as I know. If it was, that's a complete shock to me!

There was definitely a Playstation version of the first game.

Wow...no idea why I never saw it or heard of it. I had a PS1 since launch day and would have played the snot out of it if I knew.

Teal...if you're not a fan of mouse control...you'll hate diablo...man what a pain it is to get use to playing and controlling with a mouse. Insanely difficult if it's your first time. Game is worth it though it seems.

It's a killer game (in a co-op session right now with EZ and Leadfoot) and it's about as basic as it gets, gameplay-wise. Click Click Loot. But the dangling carrot that is better gear dropping every few minutes just keeps you plugging away with a grin on your face.

Had a great afternoon clicking away. Thanks for your patience and I can't wait to get back to it.

Teal, if you want a good Diablo-style game for the 360 pick up Sacred 2. You can get it for $20. Terry and I had some fun with it back when it released.

Still figuring the interface out, but big thanks to Terry for all the hints and free gear!!! It was fun hacking away with you guys. I need to go back and play the earlier parts of the game to catch the bits of the story I missed!

This link was helpful to a newb like me.... http://www.gameranx.com/features/id/675 ... -the-loot/

HIghlights for me:

- Hold the CTRL button while mousing over an item on the ground to reveal its stats. You won't have to burden your inventory by picking it up. This will provide you with a comparison between the item on the ground and the equivalent item you have equipped.

- You can hold down your mouse button while you have an enemy selected to repeatedly attack it. You don't have to click for each attack. Knowing this might just save you from destroying a few mice.

- Items in white and gray text are common drops and sell for next to nothing beyond the first act. Unless you really need the gold, don't fill your inventory with them.

- You can inspect other players and look at what they're wearing by right-clicking their character portrait.

- Press the "Z" key to get up close and personal with your character. Be sure to take a screenshot!

I'm going to see if I can get this to work on my laptop. If so, I might be joining the herd.

I've been dropped twice so far which from what I hear is not too bad. The worst time was just after killing the Skeleton King, I see him drop all of his loot, see Checkpoint come up and then lose connection to the server before I could even pick anything up. Next time I load the game I'm in the same room but it's empty. I'm assuming that there is no save anywhere feature?

So is there any in-game voice chat feature? I didn't see any.

Since they are emphasizing coop, this game should absolutely be on XBL. No idea if they could pull of the technical challenge of the seamless world with no loading on the 360 though. I'm pretty amazed at how slick it is, even on my aged PC.

Sorry I don't usually pimp our site but both Scoop and Terry wrote some excellent Diablo articles today.

I miss playing first-person shooters with a mouse since I returned to consoles last November. No gamepad can give you the control and accuracy of a mouse while playing FPS games on the PC.

My friends and I have been using Skype. Total pain in the ass. It's so weird they didn't include it in Diablo III. Especially considering Starcraft II has a decent voice chat built in.

Maybe 2024 when Diablo IV comes out?

Got started on Nightmare difficulty--as you would think, it's a hell of a lot tougher lol
