LMAO Sorry about that. Meant to bail about midnight and ended up playing until 2am.

So, uh....I went a bit bonkers trying to tweak my Demon Hunter into the most lethal killing machine I could. I'm still absolutely stunned at how much you can customize them through build and gear. I'm only level 30, but I haven't personally seen anything like what this guy can do at this point. Bosses take seconds, and I can't wait to finish Act IV and try him on nightmare.
He's got 971.79 DPS!!!!

That's pretty sick. Can't imagine him being even better than your thermonuclear wizard!

Re: OT: Diablo III Release 05-15-12
He's a God. I finished Act IV and went into Nightmare and haven't been touched yet. But I just ran into something that had me cracking up. While searching for Leoric's Crown, I was going through the defiled tombs there in the graveyard.
I sh*t you not, one of them was "Development Hell" when I got in there. The zombies all have names, and titles...Colm Nelson <Senior Game Designer>, Russ Foushee "Lead Software Engineer", etc. The big boss of it was Jay Wilson, the director that was in all the prerelease videos of the game. When I killed him, I got an achievement--"Smash! Jay, Smash!"
This game gets cooler every day.

There's definitely a great sense of humor in the game. I adore travelling with the Scoundrel companion because he cracks me up.

It's gotten awfully quiet on my friends list. Anyone here picked this up and not passed along a tag? Missing the multiplayer mayhem, and it's just not as much fun with randoms.

Re: OT: Diablo III Release 05-15-12
I spent the better part of a week playing Dragon's Dogma, but since I've now beaten that I've moved back to D3. Are you into Nightmare now? I can solo it with my Demon Hunter without a problem, but my Barbarian is getting a bit tricky into the latter stages of Act II.

Re: OT: Diablo III Release 05-15-12
Still working on just my second character...a wizard. I was foolish in the manner in which I kept loot from my first playthrough because I didn't realize that I'd be able to carry it over. Would have made it easier for myself at earlier levels if I'd known what I was doing.

Re: OT: Diablo III Release 05-15-12
The game really is phenomenal. I've beaten it with 2 characters (Barbarian and Demon Hunter) and working through Nightmare difficulty Act II with both of them. Every time I find myself dying or struggling, a quick gear overhaul puts me back in control. I'll be slogging along for a few levels and destroying stuff again--only really struggling with champions/elites/bosses, and then suddenly I'll hit a proverbial wall again and have to go gear shopping once more.
If you're not the type to really enjoy scouring the AH to perfect your gear set and tinkering with builds, this game might grow stale after a bit. If you want to only use dropped or found gear, you may be farming slightly-below-your-level areas to do so, but so far the pacing has been incredibly precise IMO. I'll progress for a while, get my ass kicked, re-equip, and keep pressing onward in continual cycles.

How long is a run through playing only single player?

Re: OT: Diablo III Release 05-15-12
I'm about ten hours in and I only just finished act ii of four. So it's a pretty decent chunk of time. I'm also a hack/slash/dungeon crawler rookie though so I'm sure people can burn through it a lot quicker than I.MizzouRah wrote:How long is a run through playing only single player?

Ok, after Dragons Dogma.. I think I'll pick this one up next. I've been trying to wait until I finish one game before picking something else up.dbdynsty25 wrote:I'm about ten hours in and I only just finished act ii of four. I finished the campaign again on Nightmare this time with my Barbarian. Ol' faithful is now officially my most powerful character, at level 51
Approaching 4,000 DPS.

Wow, this game runs great on a 5 year old pc with a SSD HD and a NVIDIA 8600 GTS video card, everything maxed out, I can run at 1600x1024 widescreen.

How in the son of a f*ck do you beat Diablo at the end, good lord. I tried and died about 20 times before I decided i better not continue or I'll need to replace my monitor after I put my f*cking fist through it. So frustrating.

Re: OT: Diablo III Release 05-15-12
If you want to run at it tomorrow night, I'd be happy to do it co-op.

Re: OT: Diablo III Release 05-15-12
Might need to do that since I clearly don't have enough firepower to do it on my own. Tried damn near everything.RobVarak wrote:If you want to run at it tomorrow night, I'd be happy to do it co-op.
Re: OT: Diablo III Release 05-15-12
I was going to say, co-op with someone like TCrouch.
Re: OT: Diablo III Release 05-15-12
Yeah, I could 1-hit him on Normal
Well, maybe not. But I could certainly off him in a matter of seconds. Think my Barb has about 7,000 DPS now.
