So not really impressed with this first game play footage of Killzone which Oh BTW is a FPS! Crysis 3 looks better than this.

I honestly think the applause is muted. When they announce the one guy you couldn't hear a thing and then it kicked in.

Graphic capabilities w/ new systems is always just so so...the last one to truly impress from the jump was the Dreamcast. Everything else has just been a slight bump and the true capabilities of the systems aren't realized for years.

Yeah but still the look is not blowing me away. I'm sorry to say but the graphics need to blow people away to get them to upgrade IMO. Not sure the rush to get this announcement out if you don't have some killer looking games to show.

At the start they said over the next several hours so I would imagine you got at least 45 minutes before seeing hardware

The big reveal so far is 8 GB of DDR5 RAM.

Rumor was 4 GB only. Retail price of that much DDR5 RAM is supposedly $100-200. Then if they bundle the camera and the Move controller, it could be pricey.

Or Sony will eat some losses.

Oh look...the PS4 is essentially a mid range PC! LOL.

And the controller is ugly as hell.

Even top of the line PCS don't have 8 GB of unified GDDR 5 memory. I'm not too excited about any of the games they showed today, but the PS4 having double the RAM people expected is the best thing I could have heard for a console that will be supposed to last 5+ years.

And yes, 8gb of DDR5 is nice...but until they give us the CPU/GPU specs, I'll be skeptical and convinced my 16gb of DDR4 in my PC will run circles around it.

Personally I care more about games and Ui features than specs.

Kind of underwhelming. I can't believe they didn't show the hardware.

The features and power of the system sound solid but the presentation was about as exciting as picking out socks in the morning.

It's was probably to announce their console before Microsoft hoping they could get a jump start on game development. All of what you guys reported sounds like next-gen is uninspiring.

If I were Microsoft I'd be happy. They now can just respond to Sonys "announcement" at E3...and do it much better. I think Sony just blew an opportunity.

Not only did they blow an opportunity. they completely f***ed it up.

How on earth do you have a console reveal and not, um, reveal the console? That was a terrible rush job on Sony's part, just to get something out there before MS. I guess if they wanted to get people talking they succeeded. I'm just not sure they'll be happy with what people are saying.

Microsoft got Sony to play their game by dropping proprietary hardware design. Both consoles I believe are running DirectX 11.1 and i've never been a huge fan of DirectX. I much prefer OpenGL for image quality.
