Re: NBA 2K12 Thread
I want me some Larry Bird cover action.
Re: NBA 2K12 Thread
Yeah i'm looking forward to see that cover but i'm leaning on Magic. Nice idea by 2K. You wonder how many will buy all three covers.

Re: NBA 2K12 Thread
I guess the odds of it including EA's C64 'Magic vs Bird' are pretty slim...

Um hello...awesome. They are just expanding the hell out of the Jordan Mode they did last year. I'm so in.

Re: NBA 2K12 Thread
why can't EA do this kind of thing with Madden? Asking seriously. Artisto/Tcrouch? Care to answer? seems like you guys are in the biz to provide a good answer.

They had that "Madden Moments" stuff where it recreated famous games & situations, etc.. I barely played it - not my thing.Lancer wrote:why can't EA do this kind of thing with Madden? Asking seriously. Artisto/Tcrouch? Care to answer? seems like you guys are in the biz to provide a good answer.

Re: NBA 2K12 Thread
I think licensing that many ex-players was cost-prohibitive.
APF 2K8 came the closest and still had nowhere near full rosters.
NBA2K11 only licensed the starters, too iirc.

1st day purchase....
Re: NBA 2K12 Thread
I just saw that Julius “Dr. J” Erving is one of the 15 Legends. Does that mean they have to have a mode in which I can play Larry bird vs. Dr. J like I did in my very first EA Sports game on the C64? Seriously, they would get $60 out of me just for that.
Re: NBA 2K12 Thread
I cannot believe I use to play this game versus one of my buddies for hours on end. Between this game, Hardball, and Links there's no telling how many hours I spent gaming on the C64.Aristo wrote:I just saw that Julius “Dr. J” Erving is one of the 15 Legends. It's been a long road as a sports gamer, eh? Hardball was so freaking fun onthe C64. We spent hour playing those two, as well as Summer Games and World's Greatest Baseball Game (which, sort of on topic, was a game of classic teams from the 27 Yankees and 34 Cardinals, to teams in the 70's).toonarmy wrote:I cannot believe I use to play this game versus one of my buddies for hours on end. I never did do Links on the C64, though.

This game, hardball, 4th and inches.. loved my C64!toonarmy wrote:

Re: NBA 2K12 Thread
Yeah Summer Games was hella fun. I misspoke. It wasn't Links, it was Leader Board Golf. Leader Board Golf was cool, but the main issue was that before each shot it took forever for all the graphics to be drawn as you watched. World Games was also a great game -- cliff diving, ski jump, etc., as was The Way of the Exploding Fist.Aristo wrote:It's been a long road as a sports gamer, eh? Re: NBA 2K12 Thread
The C64 was the absolute best. Hours upon hours of joy with Dr. J. vs Larry Bird among others. I can still remember the joy on Christmas morning when I opened the C64.toonarmy wrote:I cannot believe I use to play this game versus one of my buddies for hours on end. Re: NBA 2K12 Thread
Demo out for 360, PS3 later today.
I'm officially excited. Sounds like they handled a lot of the gameplay issues I had last year.

Re: NBA 2K12 Thread
My main problems with last year off the top of my head were too few offensive rebs (rebounding in gereral), turnovers being a little out of whack, too few charges/offensive fouls.
Sounds like animations are much better captured which alleveiates a lot of the problems above. Post game is improved. Much more control to user. There are also more contextual defensive maneuvers given to the player. Collision dentection much better, more mid air collisions, etc,
Also, less "stuck in animations I can't get out of" feeling, lol.

Nice to see a sports game developer not take their success for granted for a change!AJColossal wrote:My main problems with last year off the top of my head were too few offensive rebs (rebounding in gereral), turnovers being a little out of whack, too few charges/offensive fouls.

Does anyone know if it's possible to have CPU teams in the Online Association?

Impressed by the demo.
Lot's of new animations, more fluid player movement.
