Now I'm questioning if Tormund actually thinks Brienne is attractive, or just has a fetish since childhood for the biggest women he can find.

Re: HBO : GAME OF THRONES - Spoiler Thread
I've found the last 2 episodes rather lack luster, although last nights was much better then the first one. Considering the producers said before the season that with such limited episodes left everyone was going to feel epic, I'm questioning if they know what that word means.
Of course die hard game of thrones fans tell me I'm nuts but if seeing Arya Stark getting her cherry popped and a little side boob is epic then ya'll go right ahead...

You are nuts but that has zero to do with that one Arya scene. ZERO. Girl is of age its okay to party the night before you may go away forever.
I found it nice the way ALL the characters spent the night before hell breaks loose. True to themselves.
I love the the way Jon told Danny what was up...

Re: HBO : GAME OF THRONES - Spoiler Thread
I'd say the episode was decent, but it doesn't really feel like Game of Thrones anymore.
You think of GoT you think of political intrigue, a big fictional world and disparate plot lines, shocking betrayals, memorable characters and lines...
Right now we have all the characters sitting around the same place moping, waiting to get killed by a bunch of mindless mutes. It's just not that interesting compared to the usual deep plot lines and characters scheming we're accustomed to.

On the one hand, I guess I kind of take your point. On the other, you're nuts.Naples39 wrote:I'd say the episode was decent, but it doesn't really feel like Game of Thrones anymore.

I think it's partly a function of the Peak TV paradigm. GoT did a better job than most shows today of maintaining some episode-driven dynamics, rather than falling prey to the "13 hour movie" syndrome that afflicts many shows now. But I do think they changed direction for the last two seasons, disregarding the arc of individual episodes in favor of the wider arc of the whole show while emphasizing blockbuster action at the expense (with last night's notable exception) of character-driven drama.
A binging audience in the future is likely to hardly note the difference. As the final act of the series gains speed, the change will seem organic and make sense. For those of us consuming it week-to-week though, it can be less fulfilling. We have no problem in the 3rd act of a movie when the plot and characterization of the first two pay off in an action-oriented climax. But when that 3rd act is stretched out over 3 years and like 15 episodes, the adrenaline rush isn't sustained and it can seem like things have run off the rails a bit.
Personally, I'm kind of OK with it. Partly because I've rewatched parts of the show so many times that these last episodes feel like a runaway freight train, and partly because I'm so invested in the characters that I'm willing to cut the show a break.

Re: HBO : GAME OF THRONES - Spoiler Thread
If you kill off 75% of the people in episode 3 then there is a chance you can wrap it up in 3 episodes. Otherwise the whole thing is going to feel rushed and lacking is my guess. Thrones has never been known to move the plot lines along at a good pace since they went off book.
Part of me hopes they kill everyone off and let Queen b*tch rule. The sheer amount of complaining that would go on with that ending would be outstanding. However my guess is they take the safe route and let Jon Snow rule.

As for who gets the throne I will bet the field over Jon.

Terry had an interesting theory but I won't steal his thunder, but if his ending came to pass I would be happy.

Depends on your view of who the major characters are. Maybe one of those in my rankings. Maybe. I see all Starks standing but it would be cool and very sad if one went down.Danimal wrote:I hope you're right, and I hope it is some of the major characters.XXXIV wrote:I think we will go over at least 50% dead.

I think its the supporting dudes like your Davos that is gone and hes taking his buddys with him.
The Hound must carry on as he has a date with his undead brother. I hope.

The Lannister boys (probably both) also have to live because of the Bronn thing seeded in episode 1.
