OT: Get Well, Naples!

Hey boys,

A scary real life intrusion.

Naples and I are Facebook friends. I just noticed today there's a group called "Prayer Circle for Marc Naples."

Many of you have read my posts and updates about Marc. He is the husband of my friend Jennifer, and has been in neuro ICU for several weeks now on a ventilator with meningitis/encephalitis/transverse myelitis. It seems like he has had hurdle after hurdle to jump over since this illness began. He has shown some signs of improvement but still needs your thoughts and prayers. Please remember him, his wife Jennifer, and the entire family. It is greatly appreciated!

Judging from updates on Marc's FB page, he's had some very touch-and-go days, and he is in pretty bad shape.

I'm going to send a Facebook PM to Marc's wife to let her know that we're all thinking of him. If you have any good wishes to add, post them here. I'll send her a link as well. Hopefully it'll giver her some small boost to know that those of us here are thinking of him.

Yes, Rob. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. My prayers are with him and his family. I'm planning on seeing him and meeting his wife when we head down to Philly for the MLS games with RBNY and also the USA send-off match in May.

That's incredibly frightening, but it sounds like Naples is a fighter and he's doing everything in his power to win this battle.

How does something like this happen? I'm wondering what symptoms there were.

I joined the dedicated Facebook page, and look forward to more status updates on his improvement.

Hi Rob, you aren't intruding at all! Thank you so much for passing news about Marc to his friends at DSP. We need all the support we can get! Fortunately there are little signs of improvement here and there so we are trying to hold strong and remain hopeful. Please continue to send your thoughts and prayers our way!
