"Santa" is bringing my boys a Wii, and...

Post by Teal »

I need some good game ideas for two boys, ages 9 and 5. Games they can play together, games that won't frustrate them, games that will make 'em laugh and have fun.

Also, some good 'entire family' games. Came with the Wii Sports, and I'm planning on getting Wii Sports Resort.

They would enjoy Mario Kart a lot. The Wii sports resort is a lot of fun too.

I second that! My three kids (ages 4 to 11) love both of those games.

Take care,

I think Monster Lab is a good game, we also like the Tennis game from EA.

Aside from that can't think of much

Yeah, I've enjoyed Mario Kart myself, what little I've played it. I've never heard of Monster Lab, but the title alone sounds intriguing.

My son had a blast with the Bigs 2 on the Wii. It was a rental from the library, and he has since asked if he could get it for Hannukah.

SW Clone wars republic heroes: horrible review scores, but my kids (9 and 7) loved it.

SW Clone wars, lightsaber duels: didn't get much play. My kids didn't get into it.

Lego Star Wars, the complete Saga: Got tons and tons of gameplay. They love it.

Star Wars: the force unleashed: Kids loved it. It's "T" rated, but I let them watch the movies, and it's no worse than the movies as far as violence.

Tell me about the 'Nerf' shooter games. Tyler thinks it's cool-I've heard no reports about it's quality. Anyone given it a try?

Boom Blox

It's incredibly easy to pick up and play and is great for 2 to 4 players. All types of modes, very simple gameplay with enough strategic depth to keep it interesting. It's like the game Jenga but on steroids and a hell of a lot more fun.

Yeah, Mix has raved about that one-definitely one I'm going to put in the 'coming soon' category.

I'm probably going to get them the little NASCAR kart racer game. They love Nascar, and it looks like Mario Kart NASCAR, which is good.

Pajama Sam is a great adventure game for kids around 7 to 9 years old. Should be able to find it as a budget title. My son is having a wonderful time playing.
