OT: adventure races

Post by ProvoAnC »

Friend and I are doing an "adventure race" this OCT. Canoeing-running-biking-land nav...only about 55-60 miles total.

I'm not worried about the physical aspect. I'm wondering if anyone out there has done one before and has some tricks of the trade for us?

Thanks homos ;)

Earning a Cub Scout badge for this, gaylord?

Seriously, good luck, cuz!

Take care,

s***!

We wish it was longer! Last year's race started at 11pm.

We'll both plan on keeping it simple. 3L, what we call, assault pack...day pack I guess for everyone else. GU, PBJ's, cytomax, salt tablets, and water.

I plan on taping up my feet/ankles and sticking with trail running shoes.

Not sure how the stages will be set up...hoping canoeing is first or last, but not in b/w.

We're both about 6'2-3" 200# so we're hoping just to intimidate all the little 150#'ers and send them home before they even start ;) We're counting on land nav to be out bread and butter.
