Players are starting to complain, there's a Facebook petition for a ban, but doubt Blatter will do much about it, now or in the later stages of the WC.
If it's noticeable on the broadcast, I can only imagine how bad it is at the stadiums. Those guys must have some lungs because it never lets up.

The defending champions will have it tough tonight vs Paraguay. This is team that gave Argentina and Brazil fits during the qualifying.
Look forward to watching the debut of the Orange machine as well.

Looks like Timmy Howard is okay for the next match.

It's considered a symbol of South African heritage, its sound a show of support for the country's team, a tradition in their sports events. So why can't they just limit the vuvuzelas to the African teams whenever they play and let the different nations chants be heard in games not affecting them?
Doubt S. Blatter would have the balls to ban it from the hosts.
Pretty hard to enforce that ban, James, considering the majority of fans at most matches are locals.
How's this for a compromise? Allow the vuvuzelas during the group stage and ban them from the Round of 16 onward.
Is that true? You would think the tickets may be beyond the reach of many locals.
I thought I heard they were for sale for $3 so visiting fans could be taking part?
That said, there was either a lot of empty seats in the Denmark-Netherlands game or a lot of orange-wearing fans.
Attendance figures, especially from foreign fans, should be interesting.

When I say locals, I mean South Africans in general. Not Soweto residents.
Either that, or it only takes a few of those damn things to drown out even the loudest song from the England supporters.

Because the games can't be on 24 hours a day and you might suffer from withdrawal symptoms.

Were only 4 days into this but it looks like this WC is going to be known for its shitty goal keeping.
That was brutal!
To score such a sweet goal for the lead and to lose that lead on that play has got to hurt.

I have ZERO against the Azzurri. I do like to root for upsets though or Jimmy will yell at me

No doubt, although the game has been pretty even, that's a stinker. You have to learn how to fly before becoming Superman, no?

He was fortunate to score, not just because of the laughable punch attempt by the GK, but because he was almost maimed by this horrible challenge in the first half. I'm so glad to see him still able to walk!

Cameronasi was fortunate to avoid a second yellow. Shocking!

Camoranesi was definitely borderline for a second yellow. If it was the Mexican ref Rodriguez officiating, he would have taken an early shower for sure. So much drama in his tackles. Who me?

It might appear that there was no contact on that particular incident but in reality De Rossi was shot in the back. For realz.

I'm sorry, but after enduring ESPN's 2002 WC commentators, the Vuvezelas are no bother at all.
