IPhone/ITouch/IPad Game App Thread
I know there is an IPhone thread, but I though with all the games out for the Iphone/ITouch there should be a dedicated game thread.
Also, it is suggested that it will seriously compete with the Nintendo DS for market share and many companies are now supporting it.
So far I have IDracula, Ski Touch and Rolando Lite.
All are tremendous fun...and cheap as none have cost me over .99 cents.
I was thinking about Peggle and Dark Raider...but Peggle is $5...a little to much coin for me.
Tiger Woods looks mega fun...but $10 is a little steep.
Any suggestions on other games?

Best games I've bought so far:
Let's Golf - Thanks to whoever rec'd this one. If you like Hots Shots Golf, you'll like this for sure. Only iPhone game I play just sitting around the house.
Blackjack Run - A blackjack-based card /puzzle game. Very addictive (and get a lot of free updates with new modes & such).
Vegas Poolsharks (i think that's the name) - pretty simple pool game, but I found the 9-ball vs the AI to be a blast.
Super Monkey Ball - everyone knows it. good "show off" game, but I really don't play it too often.

Interesting...I have yet to hit a drive over 330 and that is certainly not unrealistic....10spro wrote:I recommended 'Let's Golf' and is cheaper than Tiger. I am also playing 'Flight Control' 'Guitar Hero Tour' and TW. But everyone can hit up to 360 yards or more with Tiger which is a bit unrealistic.
I downloaded Dark Raider today and I have to say it is a fantastic game. For .99 cents, what a deal!
It is classic old school gaming with a little Gauntlet mixed in with Shamus from the C64 days.
Speaking of the C64, it dawned on me earlier that the ITouch apps remind me of the C64 period in gaming.
I remember everyday as a middle schooler how I would always check with my friends to see if they received any floppy discs with games on them...then we would check every file on the discs for games. It was an amazing time...because each game brought something fresh and different.
It seems with the game app store, there is a huge variety of games that are arriving almost daily...some good, some bad...but it is incredibly exciting to see.
I wonder if game developers working at huge companies such as EA, will freelance on the side to create game apps? I can see a huge hit making them a lot of money...even at .99 cents.
I can see this Ipod Phone/Touch format exploding and changing/potentially revolutionizing the overall gaming scene.

App. Store has been open less than a year and already, looks like nobody wants to pay more than a buck or two for a game.
That means a market for ports of games available on the consoles and the PSP/DS may never develop.
No matter what kind of graphics capability they add, it seems most people will be content with cheap, short games, good for 5-10 minute sessions.

I think I've been averaging at least 2 new games a week since the app store opened. I visit Touch Arcade every day and it usually leads to another purchase.
So far my favorites are:
- Strategery
- Galcon
- Fieldrunners
- Flight Control
- Alphabetic
- KarmaStar
- Touch Ski 3D
- Peggle
I just bought AC-130 and Anytime Pool but haven't had the time to try them yet.

Yeah, in the beginning I was averaging 310 and I started keeping my finger longer in the red zone and couldn't believe the distance with my created player. If you're playing a PRO you can easily reach 360.DivotMaker wrote:Interesting...I have yet to hit a drive over 330 and that is certainly not unrealistic....10spro wrote:I recommended 'Let's Golf' and is cheaper than Tiger. I wasn't too sure about buying an iphone until I ran across this app:

All of sudden, I see the iphone being a birthday purchase for myself.

You might as well wait for the newer models that will (allegidly) be announced in June and be available in July.ddtrane wrote:I wasn't too sure about buying an iphone until I ran across this app:

Dark Raider has a new update and I really like it. Nests can now be destroyed and the controls have been tightened...I like the twin stick control. Still only .99 cents
Also, Zenonia has been released and it is a really cool old school action/rpg.
The price is steep at $5.99 but the gameplay is at least 40 hours and if you like Zelda/Landstalker/Alundra style games then this is for you. So far after 200 reviews it is averaging 5 star reviews.
If games like Dark Raider and Zenonia are what we have to look forward to on the Iphone/touch...then WOW!
