CoD Modern Warfare 2.

Post by 10spro »

I still own CoD 4 one of my favourites games of all time, still have CoD 5 under wraps as the general impressions here were meh, but I certainly look forward to
11-10-09.

There's a little teaser trailer around, not worth watching though.

You got my hopes of some real news and content regarding this game. :(

Really looking forward to this one. COD4 was my game of the year in 2007, and the disc never gets far from my xbox to this day.

I'm hoping to see new weapons and more varied MP maps this time around.

I'm hoping for a total revamp of the SP mode.

CoD World at War is pretty damn good. Not on the level of IW's CoD4, but Treyarch did a decent job with it.

If you like CoD 4 online then definitely pull out W@W. Also, they just released 3 new online multiplayer maps and "Knee Deep" has instantly become one of my favorite maps in any online shooter. The map is just plain sick!

I say absolutely! The single player/Co-Op campaign is awesome. I thought I would really tire of the WWII and it is not the case. The Japanese and Russian environments are really, really well done.

The multiplayer is just as fun for me as CoD4 as well. In fact, I actually have decided that I think I like the WWII weaponry better which I was shocked about.

I had little doubt this game will be outstanding, and things are looking on track.

About the only real piece of info I've heard is that the enemy spawn system will change so there are no longer infinite respawns until crossing the magical invisible line, which should make Veteran difficulty more palatable.

But who am I kidding, I will spend 90% of my ultimate time with this game online. I can't wait to here what's in store there.

Yeah you do!

COD 4 and 5 are probably the best shooters I've ever played. They aren't as pretty as Crysis, as massive as Battlefield: Bad Company or Frontlines, or as interesting/balanced as TF2 but once I start playing COD I just... can't... stop...

COD MW2 is going to be incredible. The trailer was absolutely ridiculous (in a good way) and has me chomping at the bit to get my hands on it. 11/10/09 can't come soon enough!!!!!

That trailer gave me a woody.

Glad to hear that infinite respawns in single player are gone - this will avoid the murderous rage I felt finishing COD4 on Veteran (if it wasn't for Brando I'd still be stuck at the ferris wheel).

Of course, I can't wait to get shot in the head by you lot as well.

:)

I love COD4 and I would say I can hold my own with anyone online. With that said, I have not played World at War since November.......when it released. I really disliked it. The SP was OKAY but I don't think I even finished it. The online was trying to be a carbon copy of 4 and it still didn't stack up.

I never really got into COD5 either. I never even tried the single player, but spent some time online.

For starters, I am just so sick of WWII games and that setting it just rubbed me the wrong way.

Second, Treyarch made some design decisions which I thought were for the worse, such as vehicles and larger more open levels. In COD4, rarely can you find a protected camping spot with a broad view of things---you are generally restricted to views which see just narrow slices of the level. In COD5 many spots have expansive views of the level, and I feel like Treyarch was giving in to the chorus of pre-teens in online forums demanding more camping spots and whatnot. The whole thing reminds me of when Activision took GH3 in a different direction than Harmonix with GH2 and the RB series, but I digress.

As far as I'm concerned, IW shits ice cream so I'm confident they will deliver a worthy follow-up to COD4.

The ferris wheel level was the infinite respawn at its ugliest. Most frustrated I have ever been with a game I otherwise loved. I am glad there was a way around it.

I would like to see the kind of cover system used in Killzone 2 for this game.

Here's a more extended one, the game looks hot, some of the action reminded me of one of the 007's older flicks.

LOL art book, custom head....

I think they should rename the 'prestige' edition to the '15-year-old geek/40-year-old virgin' edition.

Pretty interesting that the original COD will be available on arcade. Man what a great game.
