COD4 Poker Night...like Rambo without the gore...

Post by Teal »

It's Tuesday, time for some COD action. 10:30pm eastern to start. I'm ready to get my Barrett .50 cal, so I can split heads and ventilate bodies like in Rambo (yeesh, was that a gory flick!).

So, who's in?

I'll be there. The hardcore mode scares me though as I usually rely on my ability to take some hits without dying :P Either way, I'm game.

I enjoy hardcore mode for a few games every now and again.

We won't go hardcore the whole time, just a couple of matches of, say, search and destroy. After that, we'll go back to good ol' 'return of the living dead' modes...

I actually like hardcore mode for deathmatch better. If we're playing search and destroy with no respawns, you may as well give the poor sap getting shot some extra HP, or reveal the hiding spots of the defending team so they have to mix it up round to round.

Hey, had anyone done the "prestige mode"?? I can't decide if I want to do it or not.

I started prestige mode a little while ago. Currently on level 14. You rank up very fast the 2nd time around, though you do miss some weapons and perks for a little bit (particularly having no create-a-class until level 4, and no M4 until level 10). Does the make a little more interesting though to be unlocking stuff and ranking up again.

Doing prestige mode once will probably be enough for me.

If you're gonna go prestige mode do it right away. I stuck around on lvl 55 for awhile thinking I didn't want to do it and when I finally made the decision I regretted not doing it sooner. Naples is right when he says the unlocking stuff and ranking up all over actually makes things more fun. The game is such a blast to play I don't feel like I'm rehashing through old territory at all.

I have done prestige 4 times. Can't wait for the 5th!!!

It keeps the game fresh and new feeling for me by doing it. I have become pretty darn good with every gun doing this (my first time through I was an M4 guy and never used any other weapon). Now I use and finish all the weapons (except the snipers) before I move on to the next prestige.
