Downloaded it from the World Boxing Video Archive; it's in line for viewing this weekend.

Don't forget that the most boring champion in the world -- Wladimir Klitschko -- will paw his way to another victory this Saturday afternoon on HBO, against Hasim Rahman. As Kieran Mulvaney said in his "Heavy Hitting" ESPN boxing podcast this week, has any recent fighter lived so long off of one punch as Rahman after he knocked out Lennox Lewis?

Mulvaney's podcasts are a damn good listen. Check it out here:

http://sports.espn.go.com/espnradio/pod ... id=3417454

One observation from last night: Has anyone recently seen a big fighter as ripped as Cunningham with so little power? Adamek clearly has a concrete jaw, but something must be wrong with Cunningham's form. Dude was chisled, yet his punches did nothing but snap Adamek's neck. Cunningham's calves did look skinnier than Adamek's, and power does start from the legs.

I want a rematch of that fight -- soon!

Take care,

I agree. I watched the fight again today and I can't understand why Cunningham didn't floor Adamek a few times with some of the shots he hit him with. Cunningham has bird legs compared to the rest of his body. You might be right Paul, that could be the answer to his power problem.

I also agree with a rematch ASAP.

This will be an excellent fight. But I think Manny's hand speed will be too much.

It's a shame, though, that this flight isn't taking place before 90,000 singing, chanting fans in Wembley. That would be an unfair advantage for the challenger, Hatton, but it would be one hell of a spectacle for boxing.

Still, this fight sets up a megabout in the fall between Manny and Mayweather. That will be more than just a boxing match; it will be a global sports event.

The latest rumor is that Chris Arreola will take on Wladimir Klitschko in the spring. That's a big mistake for the American, as he's not ready for this fight. But it just shows how desperate the boxing matchmakers are for an American hope in the heavyweight division.

I agree with you points on the Manny vs Hatton fight. I can't tell you how much I can't wait to see Manny f*** up PBF. I'll pay for that one!

The heavyweight division is dead to me. Who the hell wants to see Arreola's fat ass get pummeled? I'll pass. I should have taken a pass on Holyfield getting ass raped by the judges on a joke of a fight last week. Holyfield out boxed the 7 foot fat out of shape Valuev and was robbed to set up a shitty championship rematch between Valuev and Ruslan Chagaev. f*** that bullshit.

I agree PK, it will be a great fight. Hatton is tough as nails and he looked better against Paulie with Floyd Sr as his trainer. But Paulie was of ZERO threat to hurt Ricky, so he could just go forward like he normally does. That ain't going to cut it against Manny. Ricky was rocked pretty good against Juan Lazcano, again, Juan ain't no Manny Pacquiao.

I agree that the handspeed will just be too much, which is usually the case when Manny fights. But to me, it will be the speed and deft of foot that will contribute as much as the hand speed will. Manny will command the center of the ring and just spin Ricky around. As we all saw on Dec 6, Manny is a lot more slick than he is given credit for.
As usual, in any of Manny's fights, the ropes is where HE DOES NOT WANT TO BE! Esp against Ricky, dangerous spot to be in!

I'd love for it the fight to be in Wembley that would be a crazy environment for a fight! The Hatton'ites already flock and go crazy in Vegas with the singing and the drums. Imagine in their own backyard, that be amazing and def quite the spectacle! The unpredictable weather in May and PPV revenue will lead to this fight happening in Vegas.

Man, I really hope Floyd comes out and he proves me wrong. But he has always been a chicken $hit and ducker. He should have fought Cotto and Margarito, instead he fought Baldomir, Gatti, and Judah, UGH! Finally someone who is as fast, if not, faster than Floyd... Here's hoping his federal tax problems lead him to man up and call Manny out!!!! That laying on the ropes $hit won't work against Manny...

UGH, Arreola is just too raw for a fight with Klitschko, not now, not for another year or 2, even if that... He'll just get fed and get people even more pi$$ed off at the heavyweight division. But it only takes one shot and Arreola does have a puncher's chance, but can't see Wlad losing.

PK, JackDiggity keep an eye out for PM 8) Got some boxing ish to share!

I love boxing!

I couldn't agree more. God I hope he fights Manny. That would make my year. Manny isn't the type to call out PBF.....but Freddie is

With the heavyweight division seeming to be so weak or unexciting, I really haven't been following boxing. But I just finished reading an article in ESPN The Mag about this guy Andre Berto. I've never seen him fight, but it seems he's been pretty successful so far. He seems to be an up and comer, I'm sure you guys are familiar with him. Is he as good as the article made him out to be?

Berto is a very solid fighter, a legitimate contender. But his problem is that he's fighting in arguably the most stacked division in boxing -- welterweight.

It's not easy winning a belt in a division that includes animals like Williams, Margarito, Judah, Clottey, Cotto, Cintron, Mosley and Quintana, although it looks like Williams is moving up because everyone in the welterweight division is too afraid to fight him. Then you have light welterweights, such as Hatton and Pacquiao, who could step up to a big-money fight at welterweight at any time.

147 is a tough, tough division.

Berto is a really exciting fighter to watch. He's compact at only 5-8, and he has a lot of power. But he also has a suspect chin, which means that either he can drop his opponent or be dropped in any around.

Berto also is a good-looking kid who speaks very well. He could become a superstar of the sport if he successfully awaits his way through the studs in the welterweight division.

Here's The Ring's prediction of nine young fighters who will emerge in 2009. Berto is on the list:

Friendly reminders about good boxing telecasts this week:

8 p.m. (ET) Thursday: Versus is replaying the outstanding cruiserweight title fight from last month between Steve Cunningham and Tomasz Adamek. this was one of the three best fights I saw in 2008, along with Vazquez-Marquez III and Cotto-Margarito.

9 p.m. (ET) Friday: "Friday Night Fights" returns to ESPN2 by showcasing two outstanding Cuban prospects. Gamboa will make his final tuneup fight before going for a lightweight belt while Solis continues his climb up the heavyweight ladder.

Can't wait!

Berto and Collazo putting on a show tonight. I don't see him knocking Collazo out. Great fight by Collazo so far. Fun fight to watch.

Collazo got robbed. Unreal. No way it should have been an unanimous decision. One judge had it 116-111.........Bullshit.

Berto is terribly overrated. He has fought no one and has a belt.

I can't wait until he fights a legitimate welterweight like Margarito, Cotto, Mosley, Clottey or Quintana and gets DESTROYED.

Can you imagine Berto fighting Paul Williams? Call the ER now.

That was freaking robbery. I just watched it (thanks DVR) and thought there was no way they were going to take it from Collazo. Man was I ever wrong.

Lennox Lewis had it right when during the fight he said that sometimes a loss is good for a fighter. Of course he was assuming Berto was going to get his first the way it was going. Now Berto will try and move up to the elite, and as PK said, get beat in a very bad way.

For as much as I love boxing, this kind of bs makes me hate a part of it. :x

It almost seems to me that the powers that be in boxing are trying to will Berto into being a star. He's a good-looking, well-dressed, well-spoken guy with power -- a potential poster boy.

Problem is, he will get exposed by one of the elite fighters in the division very soon.

He was exposed last night. The judges should be banned. I watched the fight again this morning and I'm even more pissed than last night. Disgrace is the word that comes to mind.
