Watched the fight on a torrent, and what struck me was Pavlik's pacing. The guy just had such control of the fight, other than the second round.

Yeah, Taylor won a few rounds, especially Rounds 2 and 5, but he looked more wild and flailing than Pavlik. The Ghost just relentlessly moved forward but always in control. And when it came time to finish -- BAM. No mistakes.

Hatton could learn from this for his upcoming bout against Mayweather. The only chance Hatton has is to get Floyd inside, but he can't advance toward PBF without control, or Floyd will tag him.

Even then, it might not be enough. Mayweather is much more of a dancing fighter than Taylor, so Hatton may not be able to catch him.

Yeah PK, Pavlik knows how to finish! I especially liked those uppercuts he threw in there.

As for Hatton, I think he has a chance. PBF is definitely a one of a kind though. Unlike Oscar (more due to style and age), I see Hatton on Floyd every second of the fight. I think it may come down more to how well Hatton takes a punch. I suspect we'll see those lightning quick hands of Floyd connecting at times with the rushing Hatton. If Ricky takes what Floyd throws well, then I definitely see a chance at an upset. I also expect that Hatton will do all he can to bully PBF and make him fight. If he can do that, anything can happen.

It's nice to have boxing to talk about again. The next few months should be pretty sweet. Speaking of upcoming fights, anyone think Barrera has a chance against Pacquaio? The Pac man just seems to get better when he fights guys again, and I don't see this being any different. Part of me will be pulling for the warrior in Barrera, but I'm not expecting an upset.

Good analysis, Sharkie! Yeah, I see Pacquaio beating Barrera.

I'm REALLY looking forward to Cotto-Mosley. That should be a great one. Tough to predict.

Just watched Margarito - Cotto. I'm not going to ruin it for anyone who hasn't seen it yet. It was real good...had me on the edge of my seat. Now that's why I love boxing!

Very entertaining fight. My brother is scary with boxing. He is pretty much an historian of the sport. He told me before the fight that Margarito would just keep coming at Cotto, take some punishment and then take him out in the 10th or 11th. He scares me sometimes.

Watching the first three rounds I thought Cotto was just going to outbox him but Margarito wouldn't budge. When he started getting Cotto on the ropes in about the 6th or 7th I knew Cotto was in trouble.

Max Kellerman did a very nice job (as usual) analyzing the fight. I can do without Manny Stewart. Jim Lampley, well, I wish I could mute just one person with my remote.

I was amazed when watching some of the replays between the first six rounds. Margarito wasn't even closing his eyes when being hit with some of Cotto's punches, especially when he was counterpunching at the same time.

That is a man who can BANG.

The entire fight turned in the seventh. That's when Margarito basically said: "I've taken the best this guy has, and I'm not hurt at all. It's my turn now." And then Margarito started exacting 4 1/2 rounds of punishment on Cotto before the towel was thrown.

I was glad to see Cotto's corner toss the towel. Oscar Diaz's situation still is playing on everyone's mind in the boxing community, as it should. God bless Oscar Diaz.

I agree brother. As a father of a boxer,I can't tell you how much Diaz has been on my mind the past few weeks. I drive Dom nuts by asking him if he's OK and does he have a headache between every round. I watch him like a hawk.

Calzaghe undressed Jones last night. Jones had a great first round. He knocked Joe on his ass. But when Calzaghe got up, it got ugly. Roy looked like Rocky Balboa when the fight was over.

Calzaghe is a machine. As a boxing fan, I'm just bummed that his career may be over. He backs up what he says and is definitely never dull!

As for Roy, the heart was there for sure. It was hard to watch him cut and outmatched. I just hope he calls it a career. As JD mentioned Rocky Balboa..."Ain't gonna be no rematch!"

I hope your right about Roy. He needs to call it a day. He's had a great career. I watched the HBO 24/7 series on this fight and my wife and I noticed Roy's speech is starting to become slurred. I hope Calzaghe fights a few more times before he rides of into the sunset. I love watching that man fight.

The picture quality sucks,but this is Dom taking on a Heavyweight in a sparring session last summer. He broke the kids nose so it only went a round.

Damn, Dom has one hell of a left. That guy got hit with about 6 of em...and a couple in succession right there at the end. I like how the other dudes coach was saying he can't hurt you...yet he's the one that kept getting popped and breaking his nose. Good stuff JD...more Dom videos.

Scott,that kid talked so much sh!t to my son before that it wasn't funny. Dom had enough and challenged his to spar. That shut him up. Honest to God,he had 45 lbs on Dom and 6 inches in height.

The only thing I didn't like was that Dom didn't work his body more. He was pissed and went headhunting. It worked out well for him but I want to see him show some discipline when he's pissed. If not it will cost him one day. I wish they scored points for body shots in amature boxing. It makes hard for me to get him to throw em.

Now that I know how to do it I will post his Junior Olympic bouts this spring. I promise better picture quality!

Joe C. schooled Roy -- no contest, man. His work rate was exceptional the entire fight, and his unconventional style didn't allow Roy to through his patented lead left. But Joe C's combinations to the body took a toll on Roy. I know the lead right is Roy's trademark punch, but I'm amazed he didn't rely a bit more on a jab to set up Calzaghe once he realized the lead right wouldn't work. Maybe he never had a chance to penetrate Joe C's fusillade of punches!

I would LOVE to see Joe C. postpone retirement for one more fight and take on Chad Dawson. That would be a GREAT fight, and a victory would cement Joe's legacy as an all-time great, as Max Kellerman said after the fight last night.

I agree. I would love to see Calzaghe fight Dawson. Chad would give Joe a better fight than RJJ did last night. I think Joe would beat Chad. I hope we get to find out!!

I agree. If Joe had the same workrate as tonight, he would beat Dawson.

But I'm not sure Dawson would sit back like RJJ did tonight and let Calzaghe come at him. RJJ just kept thinking that lead right would rescue him, and Joe never let him get it off.

I know this fight hasn't electrified the boxing world, but I'm really looking forward to Hatton-Malignaggi later this month. Ricky is back at 140 where he belongs, and Malignaggi is a tough kid.

I think it will be a rough, tough fight, as Ricky will do his usual punch-and-clinch. I know Malignaggi catches a lot of sh*t from fans for his pretty-boy looks, but the kid showed incredible heart and balls in his fight against Cotto two years ago in which Cotto broke his cheekbone and orbital bone, and Malignaggi went the distance.

And we have Pac Man and Oscar early next month, too! Boxing is alive and well, boys. Just look past the incredibly boring heavyweight division, and you'll find plenty of excitement. Hell, I got way more enjoyment out of the Vic Darchinian-Christian Mijares fight a week ago than a heavyweight bout, and Vic and Mijares combined (115 pounds each) weigh less than W. Klitschko!

And any time Vazquez and Marquez want to get it on for No. 4, I'm all over that. I'm struggling to think of a better trilogy this decade. Corrales-Castillo would have been that good or better if not for Chico's tragic death.

P.S.: Jermain Taylor vs. Jeff Lacy next Saturday on HBO ...

Dec. 4: Winky Wright vs. Michi Munoz

Dec. 11: Steve "U.S.S." Cunningham vs. Tomasz Adamek

Not bad names for Versus.
