I ask you guys since I currently have the HBO package with Adelphia and it pretty much sucks for me. I´m not digging their movies and the none their shows right now interest me. I´m waiting for the Sopranos though... Anyways, any of you guys have Starz, Showtime or Cinemax? For strictly movies, wich one would you recommend over HBO?

[ This message was edited by: javi on 13-11-2003 08:39 ]

We have basic cable and that´s it. To me, we´re already paying too much just to watch television.

If we want to see a movie, we rent it. If it´s good enough to watch more than once (which not many movies are), we buy it cheap. My son has a nice collection of kddie movies that get regular playtime. Other than that, I try to stay away from the TV unless it´s for gaming

Digital cable, no premium channels.

My wife moans about the high cost of digital compared to regular cable, but there´s no way I´m ever giving up Fox Sports World and Speed.

Sure, there are some shows on HBO that interest me. But not enough to eschew time reading, gaming, working out, hanging with the frau, kids, family and friends, etc.

I guess I would feel differently if there was anything on the premium channels really worth watching, but I don´t think there is.

The only weekly show worth watching on TV these days is "The Office" on BBC America, in my opinion. Probably the funniest show I´ve ever seen.

Take care,

I have HBO on DirectTV, which is like 7 channels.

I also have the Showtime HDTV channel and their original series are nothing special, even though the one about the angels who guide souls to heaven is acclaimed. Watched it once and was kinda bored. Give me Six Feet Under any day.

Showtime does have some movies HBO doesn´t and vice versa.

Yeah I thought about canceling HBO since Sopranos and 6FU doesn´t start until at least March.

But SATC starts up in January and then Curb Your Enthusiasm in February.

HBO also has their American Undercover, which has some good documentaries, and some of their sex shows get real good ratings, even though they´re kinda boring and not that erotic.
