Emergence Day (GOW)

I am so pumped for Gears of War today. Unfortunately I'm stuck at work until 8:00pm tonight but I've got it paid off and I'll pick it up on my way home. Now that the reviews are coming in it looks like this game is living up to the hype.

Who else is picking this one up? Am I the only one totally pumped for this game? This is going to be a loooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnngggggggggggg day at work.

i will!!! between 1-2 pm today i can go get it... i just can imagine the Gamestop dude getting swamped with calls.. he said it is available to those who pre-ordered...

Most EB's are getting it today (ours is getting it around 6:00pm). Unfortunately I have to work there tonight until 9:00pm.

But, I have tomorrow off of work all day!!!

Will be getting mine at around 3:30 today. Crazy manager is meeting the truck and bringing it himself. Can't wait to dig into it!

Bastards! I would love to get in some MP. I watched a sick video on IGN last night detailing 4 different MP maps. I was kinda surprised at the pace (in a good way) of the game. Its a run and gun but slower than expected...and the cover system is very intuitive. Did I mention the sick graphics!?

I have a work function tonight from 6-9 so I wouldn't be able to play much tonight anyway. Those that do get it post some impressions.

I know there are a number of you guys around the western Chicago suburbs. Gamestop in Fox Valley is going to have about 50 extras (above pre-orders) after 3:00pm Central. I don't know if I'm going to be able to get up there, but I thought I'd share anyway...

We should have quite a few extras in our Glenview EB store if anyone wants to come up to the norhtern suburbs (plus you can meet me in person and get a discount!!!!)

Well it never hurts to make that phone call! Turns out my store had them for pre-orders and a decent number of extras as well in the afternoon delivery.

Who's up for some co-op and/or 4 on 4 tonight?

Me, me, me!!!! Won't be until 9:30 - 10:00pm or so Central time though.

I am also off of work all day tomorrow so that will be a nice time to give this one some serious play time (in between practicing that damn solo in Sweet Child O' Mine on Expert).

Well, I picked it up with a bit of hesitation. I'm going to wait to open it until I read some reviews from others on here. The store in Chesterfield, MO had plenty of copies. Must be reward for the Cardinals World Series Championship.
