While waiting for xbox 360 - PC has loads of good gaming
funny how things go in cycles.....after I got my xbox, I hardly ever gamed on my PC. Now that the PC has forges ahead of the XBox again, in terms of graphics, I am gaming mostly on my PC again. The amount of quality titles has really kept me busy:
-Call of Duty2
-Pro Evo5
-Half Life2
-F.E.A.R. (just started this week)
-NFS Most Wanted
-Toca3 demo
-MTX Mototrax demo
-Call of Duty2

-Half Life2
-F.E.A.R. (just started this week)
-NFS Most Wanted
-Toca3 demo
-MTX Mototrax demo

Agreed. It's the only game I play on PC. FM 2006 is killer.fsquid wrote:As long as there is Football Manager on the PC, I will always game on the PC.
Take care,

my point was that until I can afford a 360, the PC has
stepped in as a nice and surprising replacement.

yes I did, but that thread died a while ago and while this was a similiar
thread, it's not exactly the same.

Did you already start this thread?
Brando, I got a GEForce 6600 at Best Buy for $150 and it plays HL2 and even F.E.A.R. fine.

I have zero hands-on opening up a PC.

PC gaming has always had and will always have a load of good games, regardless of what console is out.
Civ IV, Wow, Space Rangers 2, The Movies to name a recent few.
I'll always prefer my baseball and golf games on a PC.
So I'm not sure the point of this thread , unless you're trying to make yourself feel better because you don't have a 360 yet

it's very easy. The new one basically goes in the samw way the
old one comes out. They just pop into the slot. You might have to hook up the fan to a power cable.......that's probably the hardest part and that's not hard.

I'll have to check. When you install the game, it automatically optimizes your settings based on your system. I'll check tonite. My problem is,
I can't decide which to finnish first.......HL2 or F.E.A.R.

I've been avoiding the PC lately but got Quake 4 and Civ 4 for christmas so I'm ramping up a bit (gaming is a good winter hobby--as if LA has winter) Quake 4 is pretty rough on my box and I'm so tempted to grab a new videocard. I just hate to upgrade with the deadend AGP platform. Quake 4, BF2 are pretty sweet though notwithstanding the occasional slideshow effect. FM2k6 is amazing. Haven't really spent much time with Civ4 but I think with those 4 games I could kill a year or two.
