Naples need link. Says video unavailable.

I will assume its the lighting up of the Tarlys? Maybe? She was pretty calm for that. Whats a girl to do when dumb asses wont kneel?

She looked full blown crazy papa at the end of that last episode. I would not want to be those people seeking safety in that keep.

On the other hand the way this season is going it could just all be a set up for a twist.

I've seen a lot more people this week starting to sour on this season in the various places i frequent. This is what happens when you promise "Every episode will be like a blockbuster" and you delivered episodes that just don't feel like the past seasons.

I'm kind of glad it is ending since I don't think the writers are capable of going off book and keeping up this shows quality level.

Also I'm not really sure that Dragon is dead, unless GOT dragons are really weak. Of course it wasn't intelligent enough to dodge the 2nd and 3rd ballista shots so who knows.

All I know is there are 2 episodes left, every major player is still alive and I have no idea how they deliver a satisfying, not rushed ending at this point.

It's the clip of her at the Gates of Qarth ranting about burning the city down with her dragons.

There's also been one or two occasions that I can't specifically remember where Tyrion has been like "woah, you sound like your crazy dad, take it down a notch."

I see your point. She did burn all the khals alive too. That was cool. 8)

She always or mostly had good motives I thought. Has pretty good motives now too but if she does what the show is hinting at...

I just never saw her as crazy til last night.

I actually liked the episode.

This show has never been about sunshine and rainbows and the good guys always win.

It's not perfect and it's all a bit abrupt, but a tidy ending would've been the real waste of 8 years of complex characters and political backstabbing, IMO.

Character and story arcs came to a head. Characters made heavy decisions about who they want to be and how they want go out. And the climactic battle for Kings Landing was simply a brutal, bloody f*cking mess. When the credits rolled it felt like the shocking beheading of Ned Stark, or the shock of the Red Wedding.

It was heavy, it was uncomfortable, it was why Game of Thrones is different from other shows.

I can only presume the last episode is going to be Jon (and the Starks) versus Dany.

All of your points are valid.

Now....

Explain to me why tyrion is so f***in stupid. You conveniently left that out.

Oh wait...and why does kit describe the ending this way?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vvBxxCdS98E

1) Why is Tyrien is so f***in stupid for the smartest guy ever?

2) Why did Kit give that answer?

:D

Tyrion is a broken man. He's lost faith in himself. I think he let Jaime go so he could live with himself and re-pay his brother, but didn't really expect it work.

Jaime decided he wanted to go out with Cersei. The Hound decided he wanted to go out fighting his brother. Arya decided not to go out yet. Tyrion feels defeated and is ready to be put out of his misery, and he's okay with it if the last thing he does is try to save his brother and the city, even if it's a longshot.

Tyrion is the reason the city burned.

Epic fail.

The more I think about it.

This episode is a f***in disgrace.

I dont see the motivation for burning the city after surrender.

Lazy and disgusting story telling.

Honestly of all the episodes this season this one bothered me the least. Doesn't make it good, still reinforces my thought the writers can't write off book and whatever spinoff they have planed will suck.

You had 3 main characters die...maybe. That is some epic level bullshit to me, because hey are they really dead? After all the s*** Cerci pulled and she gets to (maybe) die in her brothers loving arms. By the way is Jamie a robot, because he sounded like he lost a lung from the wound but then was fine.

Breaker of chains is suddenly a psycho, her armies suddenly have no problems killing women and children.

I agree with 34 that Arya kills Danny in the finale.

I hope somehow the dwarf is playing everyone and they all die and him and Jean Gray rule.

If that fat lazy ass Martin would of finished the books then maybe we would of gotten a good ending but I hear you.

Next week better be 2 hours long to get this s*** wrapped up.

I feel like where the plot ended up, if you're just whiteboarding it like you do when you're breaking the season, is fine. There was enough foreshadowing of Dany's heel-turn, and it made logical sense in the larger structure of the story and, as Naples pointed out, thematically.

The problem is that these last shows have been rushed, badly paced, and totally underwritten. Scenes like Varys' arrest and Dany's desperate last attempt to reignite things with Jon should have been pivotal. But since Varys has barely spoken in the last 4 episodes, much less done anything noteworthy, and because we just saw Dany try the same thing at Winterfell, they felt like plot elements that had to be checked off.

The most compelling character moment leading up to the climax of mass murder by a previously heroic and beloved figure in the show was...dark circles under her eyes and (very slightly) disheveled hair.

Take 3 more episodes and do some goddamn writing! They just started pushing the characters hither and yon, ignoring the basics of good storytelling. Jamie's seasons-long redemption arc leads to him breaking with Circe, the center of his world for his entire life, a woman for whom he has killed repeatedly. He is drawn to Brienne, who represents the virtuous, honorable ideals that he had mocked his entire life. This is done beautifully and with finesse over many hours of television.

Rather than exploring the reasons that he backslides and returns to Circe, with the catharsis that viewers could experience seeing a potential hero return to venality, we get one nearly-wordless confrontation and an entire castle falls on his head...the end.

There are so many examples of this, unfortunately. Arya throws away an entire life dedicated to exacting revenge against Circe because of 3 sentences and a meaningful look from The Hound?

I would love to know why B&W, who by all accounts were offered all sorts of leeway by HBO, felt compelled to do things this way? They could have tent-polled a season with the big battles and filled in with quiet, character-driven episodes in between that made those epic events worthy of the trouble. Instead they seem to have Jerry Bruckheimer-ed the whole thing, with the characters existing as shadows of their former, complex selves, switching up motivation and coming into conflict just to serve the explosions. So disappointing.

Reading lots of reviews and fan backlash and you know, HBO doesn't give a s*** because good or bad everyone is talking GOT.

This is a snippet of one review which captures my feeling on the deaths.
Jaime and Cersei finally find each other, and if they weren't both deeply horrible people who have committed unspeakable sins and backtracked on seasons worth of character development, their reunion would almost be sweet. You would almost, for one second, be forgiven for hoping they could escape and be weird with each other in Pentos for the rest of their days. But you only get one second! Remember Brienne! And Missandei! And Margaery and everyone else who has ever suffered and died at these people's three collective hands! Jaime and Cersei deserve the poetic, meaningful deaths that are inevitably coming their way!
Hmm? What's that? Oh, they get crushed under some rubble while trying to escape? Two of the main antagonists, who have driven the show's id since the very first episode of the very first season, just kinda get squished?
