Time for a new 'what are we playing now' thread?

Post by webdanzer »

Figured it's a good time for this again, considering the PSP release and a slew of late winter early spring releases.

OOTP6 - I'm a putz for waiting this long. Anyone know of any fictional league with openings?

God of War - !!!! just, !!! 8O

World of Warcraft - Of Course

Splinter Cell CT - Just about to dive in headlong

Nexus, the Jupiter Incident - PC space fleet gaming

MVP baseball

MLB 2006

NHL 2k5

MX vs ATV

Special Forces: Nemesis Strike -Surprisingly fun $20 release! Poor graphics, but fun gameplay. Plus, another 'Killswitch-like' game in utilizing cover fire, which is always a plus for me.

Devil May Cry 3 - About to start this one up too.

Brothers in Arms - (whoops! Edit! I forgot this one!)

Crazy fun time for me, lately!

All on Xbox:

Brothers in Arms: Mostly offline. A fantastic game. Great combination of thinking and shooting. Easily the best offline military shooter I've ever played, and the online play is unique and entertaining.

MVP Baseball 2005: Exclusively offline. Best combination of fun and realism I've encountered in a console baseball game. Didn't even plan on buying a baseball game this year, but this game has sucked me in and swallowed me whole.

Winning Eleven 8: Best team sports game ever on a console. Period. Damn, I wish this game was on Xbox Live.

TOCA 2: Mostly online. I've rediscovered the brilliance of this game, especially online, in the last week. Fantastic racing game, rivaled only by World of Outlaws Sprint Car Racing on this generation of consoles.

Take care,
PK

MLB (PS2) and Gretzkey (PSP) -- Both of these games just keep getting better and better for me. Great job 989...can't wait to pick up MLB for the PSP when it drops.

TW and NFL Street (PSP) - haven't given either of these much playtime yet. The 989 games keep getting me to go back for more.

X-Box:

Fight Night Round 2
MVP 2005

PSP:

WipeOut
Ridge Racer
Tiger Woods
Lumines
Twisted Metal

I am SO damn tempted to pickup both God of War and Splinter Cell, however, I kind of blew my wad with the PSP and am enjoying it too much to spend $$$ on console games right now. Plus the PS2 is bascially all my girlfriends daughters right now (A Dog's Life, Barbie Horse Adventure and Shrek 2) so I have given up my rights to that system for a while.

I am still on the fence about Doom 3 too. I LOVE the fact that there is the online Co-Op mode and I might just have to get it to take advantage of that.

Other than that, I am only planning on getting PSP games in the near future. FIFA, Mercury, MVP, and possibly NBA Street.

PSP
Tiger Woods
Lumines
Gretzky NHL

Baseball Games
There are times when I love all three and there are times when I hate them all and want to throw them on Half.com. MVP is the best game I've ever played that I just don't feel like playing. I can hit good for awhile and then go on incredible streaks of ineptitude and I can't figure out why. MLB 2K5, once tweaked, teases me with some realistic pitch counts and decent zone hitting then I remember how much the fielding bothers me after I play a game of MVP. MLB 2006 is starting to get some more play by default.

GT4

MVP.

That's it. I am planning to go back to KOTOR II, and still have Metroid Prime 2 to play.

I've actually cut back quite a bit on my playing and am reading more.

Right not it's all MVP and WE8. Both are great but I'm having a hard time pulling myself away from MVP. Just love it.

MVP (XBox)
GT4 (PS2)

There have been a few times where I was literally playing both at the same time, thanks to being able to B-Spec the endurance races. Between innings I'll check on my car, make any adjustments, then go back to the ballgame.

I've been playing a potpourri number of titles, but the ones I've spent most my time with over the last 10 days include:

MX vs. ATV Unleashed
TimeSplitters 3 Future Perfect
Project Gotham Racing 2
Splinter Cell Chaos Theory (and Pandora Tomorrow)
World Championship Poker
Phantom Dust - (ready to call it sleeper game of the year)
Ford Racing 3
Super Monkey Ball Deluxe (party games with the family)
and pk had me get out TOCA 2 again :)

And on my 2 day old PSP...mainly Lumines and a little Wipeout Pure

1. WE8 (xbox)--for the third year in a row this game is consuming me. I am in my third season of a ML and I play almost every night. As a result, the other games on this list get little play, but they provide nice breaks when I want to change it up.

2. MVP (xbox)

3. MLB (ps2)

4. Fight Night (xbox)

5. Rugby (xbox) (just got it, haven't even played it yet.)
