Trust me...STICK WITH THOSE PADDLES. You will get used to them faster than you can imagine. I felt the same way with my original Elite and within a day or two the awkwardness went away. They are the key to never having to take your fingers off the sticks which is big in FPS.
My Eilite 2 is due either tomorrow or Wednesday so I’m juiced.

I preordered my Elite 2 from Best Buy on October 20th thinking that would be early enough to get it today on release day. I chose the delivery option of picking it up at my local store instead of having it delivered to my home. I get an email message from BB saying the store is out of stock.
Hopefully, it will be in the store by this Wednesday. I keep telling myself, “patience grasshopper”.
PS I bought the Elite 2 controller primarily to play TGC 2019 on my Xbox One X, but I’m also interested in seeing how it plays on the Windows version too.

You would think a computerize inventory system would prevent something like that from happening!?

I'm surprised at how much in demand the Elite 2 controller is right now. I underestimated the tastes of the buying public. I can honestly say that the Elite added enough to my enjoyment of most games, esecially TGC 2019 and 2, that it was more than worth the extra cost. My Elite met its demise in transit from our vacation spot to home this Summer. I guess I didn't pack it right and when I put it back in service at home upon return, it's like the left trigger is constantly being pulled. I tried repairing it to no avail.
After playing with the elite 2 a number of hours yesterday, I picked up my old controller just to see how it felt. The difference is shocking. Soooo, I guess I'm keeping this sucker. The stick resistance, in particular, it something I never knew I wanted! Good stuff.

I ordered mine from walmart.com for in store pickup and it says it will be ready tomorrow, also still shows in stock on their website with 2 day delivery.
I'm still waiting for my pre-ordered Elite 2 controller.
The Best Buy rep told me that Microsoft shorted all of their stores orders creating back-orders like mine. I may be cancelling my order with BB if I'm not able to get it by Friday.
Yep, I'm a believer. It's a bit weird to have the paddles smaller and more recessed than the Elite 1, but the stick tension is a huge bonus. An extra profile on the controller (3 instead of 2) is nice, as well. Overall construction feels like it's made much more "solidly", if that makes sense. A bit more weight to it, even though that could just be my imagination. I just hope those rubber seams don't peel off on the sides like they did on the Elite 1.
To me, after using the Elite 2 next to my Elite 1 (which has been moved to the PC), I like the Elite 1 better in terms of the button feel. The 2 just feels cheaper when the buttons are pressed, kind of like a weird hallow feel, especially the DPad. It may be because my Elite 1 is WELL used...so we'll see how it goes. Definitely worried about the texture peeling like the OG. I'm sure they thought about that, since damn near every Elite 1 suffered from it.
Got my Elite 2 and was about to download the app off the Windows 10 store and holy crap that app has a 2 star rating with many people saying it bricked their controller so umm not going to do it. I assume this was the only way to use profiles but not taking a chance.

That's the only way, and I've used it for my other Elites without an issue (and did with this one, as well).
However, the profile stores on the controller itself, so even if you just go over to your XBox and set the profiles up, they'll be saved when you go over to PC.

Yeah, that's what I did with my Elite 1, created the profile on the XBox One and it saved to the controller. It can then be used on the Windows 10 PC without ever having to go into the app on the PC.
The customizations options are pretty insane for the "E2". Does anyone really adjust stuff like the "amount of rumble" in the quadrants of the controller?? I'd love to hear a real use case that type of stuff.

Maybe to simulate edge grip in a racing game? When you're taking a hard left corner, your right-side tires will be under more load and wear more, and maybe rumble located on that side will increase the sense of immersion?
Just talking out of my ass, as I don't have an E2.

Looks like the monolith from 2001 space odyssey after too many cheese burgers.
I don't care if it looks like Jabba the Hut after too many keg parties, if it can render The Golf Club 2021 in ray traced 4K HDR @ 60 FPS, I mush have one It does look a bit fugly though... I wonder what the dimensions of it are? I've got two adjustable shelves in the center bay of my entertainment center cabinet that would accommodate it horizontally. Microsoft says it can sit horizontally as well as vertically. I just wonder if it cools as well horizontally has it would vertically? I get the impression that it wouldn't, but I don't have enough information to make a final judgement on that.
Whatever alterations are needed to my entertainment center, I must own one of these 12 teraflop, virtually no load time, ray tracing beasts
