In the end it was Russell Wilson who put on a show, rolling out of the pocket and putting big numbers on the board.
Wilson was definitely the difference. He played a hell of a game. Eagles were due for a loss and they got it. They didn’t play horrible but you gotta bring your best against proven squads like Seattle.

If JuJu Smith was a defensive player he would be suspended for 1-2 games but since he is not, nothing will happen and PK where are you condemning this hit?

Hit wasn't that bad...it was the waving his dick in his face that was the problem. Oh and it's Burfict, sooooo, pretty sure dudes are gonna get a pass on that one.

Didn't see it live. Didn't watch game. Could care less about either team. Just watched replay this morning.

Plus, as DB said, the target was Burfict. A little medicine, perhaps? Smith probably will be suspended for one game, but I did take great pleasure in seeing one of the ultimate sh*theads and sociopaths of the NFL getting laid out.

Bravo, JuJu. As Steely Dan sang, "Do it again."

Gronkowski's cheap shot on a prone Tredavious White was far worse. Pre-meditated, not in the course of play, defenseless player laying on the ground. JuJu's hit was something Burfict does about four times per season.

No tears shed.

So we pick and chose who is dirty based on who they hit. Got it.

Steelers are as dirty as Bengals but I guess they get a pass.

Yes, the JuJu hit was dirty. No question. But my outrage is muted considering the recipient.

I guess you missed the part of my response in which I said JuJu probably will get a one-game suspension. It's deserved. But the day I shed tears that Vontaze Burfict got laid out is the day I'm reincarnated as Peter North in the heyday of 1980s porn.

1 Game suspension, 1 game for Gronk is a joke as well. I guess it is only 2 games if the recipient goes to the hospital.

First, Shuster’s first point of contact was shoulder to shoulder, if you look at replay in slow-mo. Burfict’s head injury probably was due to whiplash and impact on turf

Second, Gronk does not have previous. Not sure about Shuster. But one game is appropriate for both.

Trevathan’s suspension was reduced to one game, so I’m not sure why you’re on DEFCON 5 about this other than blatant, admirable homerism.

LOL I never brought up Trevathan's hit into this discussion, I was fine with 2 games. At the time i said it wasn't an intentionally dirty hit and I stand by that. You acted like he was committing murder so I found it odd you were so quiet on this clearly intentional act, you anwser that since it was against a dirty player you didn't give a s***, fair enough.

Shuster's "clean block" is against NFL rules now and if anyone believe him that he "didn't intend to cause injury" or "didn't know he was standing over him" OR and this one is the kicker "that he didn't know it was Burfict" then they are a f***in moron. It was intentional and it was pay back which many people feel was deserved which is fine but spare the excuse that it was clean, The guy threw the same block on someone else 4 plays later that was not deliver with the intent to kill someone and guess what the guy got blocked and not carted off on a stretcher, f***er knew what he was doing.

Gronks 1 game suspension makes no sense, there was nothing about that which was a football play. The only intent on that play was to hurt that guy.

As for DEFCON 5 it has nothing to do with a Bears game 2 months ago, this s*** is getting out of hand. I've lost count of the suspensions. It may not happen until next year but Shuster is going to get his head taken off and eventually someone is going to die.

Implement a targeting rule like in the NCAA, state clearly that it will result in ejection and a 2 game suspension with lose of pay or something that will matter or we can keep going until the sport dies off which may be inevitable anyway.

All good, impassioned points, Dan.

But understand there is one true common ground between the NFL and NHL -- lackadaisical, insincere efforts to improve player safety, especially when it comes to head injuries.

Both leagues talk a good game. Both leagues insist they're spending millions and focusing on increasing player safety. But the bottom line is there's no true way to eliminate head injuries from either game without significant changes to the rules and the way the games are played.

The neanderthals among the administration that run both leagues lack the courage and progressive spirit to make those changes. Plus, big hits that tear guys heads off are good for both businesses. What shows up on "SportsCenter?" Big hits.

So the NFL and NHL both insist they're working hard to increase player safety when, behind the scenes, the dust-farting cretins that run both leagues love the popularity of the big hits and are largely washing their hands of the head injury issue.

Thanks for helping us. The three INT’s hurt the Hawks obviously as they kept shooting themselves in the foot, but still thought they had a chance until the very end. A couple of horrible non calls at the end of the game did not help at all but credit to Jacksonville for dissecting SEA’ weakening secondary.

So, are you still nervous XXXIV? And don’t tell me I didn’t warn you. I said at least two TD’s for your team to claim the division, but it looks worse than that. It is what it is for Seahawks fans. Too many key injuries and the Rams are just that much better today.

I mean have they crossed the 50 yards line yet? The D looks gassed after spending much of the half in their own zone, a key 23 yard completion to Graham was overturned, nothing and I mean nothing is going their way with the exception of an interception.

If I were the Rams I would save the key players for them and just start running the ball at will.

Congrats on a great season. I might as well watch Vader’s team vs the Pats at this point.

James had possession and then turned to stretch toward goal line, when he lost possession AFTER the ball broke the plane of the end zone. Why is he any different than a runner at that point?

The NFL TD reception rule is the dumbest rule in sports. Period. I'm not sure even NFL rules makers know what constitutes a legal TD catch.

NFC playoffs are going to be must see tv!

Rams
Panthers
Vikings
Saints
Eagles

Any of these teams can make a serious run. I think LA and Minnesota have the edge. I would have said LA and philly last week.

I’d love to see someone knock out the Patriots. We need some new blood in the afc playoffs.
