XBox One AND PS4 Discussion

The Scorpio is definitely going to be a beast. The last thing I read was that developers were blown away with the power of the Scorpio. It was more powerful than they expected. Supposedly its 4-5 times as powerful as the original Xbox One. Its not simply an upgrade. Its really a new type of console. The attractive thing is all Xbox One games with play on it but (not totally confirmed) "Scorpio" games wont be playable on the Xbox One.

I think it will be on Steam. It's not exclusive, and is coming to PS4.

But if you want play anywhere, and want to play in PC, then the Steam is not an option.

With EA Access and Games with Gold I won't be a regular subscriber. But for $10 a month here or there for digital rentals I would use this.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. But MS could make a damn compelling case this holiday season to lure new console owners. With EA Access and Game Pass, you get a hell of an instant game collection.

E3 should be interesting this year. Seems like MS is going to try to go big. I read that they are also looking at a trade-in program for current console owners to drive Scorpio adoption.

It would have to be on the order of less then 100 bucks after trade in to sweeten anything for me. But that's only if I wind up having having to.

Xbox Game Pass is an interesting concept. But the launch lineup of games, at least teased through the accompanying graphic, is less than impressive.

No Ubisoft. No EA (obviously, although I already have EA Access). No Rockstar.

I don't think this is going to be a great deal for folks with large libraries already, who have been grabbing lots of GwG games. But it's not a bad deal for anyone deciding to join this gen now. hopefully it will be easy to use off and on. I can see renting a game for $10 one month, which also gets me access to a bunch of other games. But I see a ton of months that I'm not going to need it.

Ok friends ave me going back through this gigantic thread.

I set up my PS4 Pro on my KS8000 and when I look at resolution output it says HDR not supported. Do I need to go change the setting on the TV?

You have to go into Expert Settings on the TV, and enable HDMI UHD Color for the port you're plugging into.

Initially, you couldn't do that and Special Viewing Mode=Game Mode at the same time, but now you can.

True. But NBA 2K16 will be one of the launch games. That game is 18 months old.

I hope there's a little less dust collecting on some of the other titles in the service.

Game is fine playing Co-op, it has its cool, tense moments even if you play solo. With so many fine games these days, I just don't have the time to revisit the title even it's free.

Evolve can be fun to play through some of the tutorial. But once you have to start playing online, it gets old real fast. The finishing player count makes it even worse.

Yeah, kind of what I figured. This sentiment, btw, is what has me skeptical of that Friday the 13th game that's coming. Seems like the same basic formula. And I can see goobers cheesing the hell out of it.

Exact same thought I had--DF is meticulous in their hardware analysis, and that was like a very well written fanboy post.
