Boxing should just say "screw it" and go full WWE: prearranged outcomes, big storylines, "heel turns", dudes running the ring to whack a guy with a chair, etc. Just become this giant over the top entertainment vehicle. They could still charge $60+ for PPV (wwe does). Who wouldn't want to see Money May fight "The Zombieman" then Arum comes running into the ring in the 8th to beat Money May with his own championship belt when the ref isn't looking??

No offense toward you, Gregg, but I chuckle at the indignation shown over this decision and its historical context. Yes, it was a DEPLORABLE decision. Yet as longtime New York Times and New York Post boxing writer Michael Katz said when he was inducted today into the Boxing Hall of Fame, the sport will survive because these kinds of decisions have occurred for the last 150 years and will continue to happen.

Boxing is corrupt. Boxing is the Wild West of sport. Boxing is filled with injustice, inside and outside of the ring. Always has been, always will be. Hell, The Mob ran boxing from the 20s through the early 60s.

But it's still a beautiful sport, at its essence. And there will be an incredibly competitive, exciting, properly judged bout of some significance within the next week or two somewhere in the world.

I'm wearing my rose-colored glasses, but like Gloria Gaynor, the Sweet Science will survive this. Thrive? No. Survive and endure longer than many "sports du jour" like MMA? Without question.

Needless to say we had a blast! God was Manny robbed. The good news is we won 350.00 on the fight so we hit Gordon Ramsey's place at the Paris Hotel and tried Beef Wellington for the first time. Thanks to Bob Arum and his judges.

Dom has a close friend (Saul Rodriguez)that was on Friday's card at the Hard Rock. Saul is now 5-0 and trying to talk my son into going pro.

Fight fans can agree to disagree on last night's stoppage. Keep in mind, Lee was ahead in the bout. More importantly, his hands were up. He was taking shots but defending himself. That being said,Lee didn't protest, he even admitted after fight that Chavez walked through his best punches. Bring on a title-unification fight with Sergio Martinez.

I had Chavez ahead, 4-2, in rounds when the fight ended. It was a proper stoppage by Laurence Cole, who did an uncharacteristically good, unobtrusive job of officiating last night.

Lee outworked Chavez in two of the three early rounds, when he tried to box. But once JCC Jr. goaded him into an inside bout, it was over for Lee. Chavez won rounds four, five and six on my card at home, and he was heading toward a fairly comfortable win if he didn't get the TKO.

Chavez is ready for Martinez now. Sergio is a far better boxer, but he's a small middleweight. He's going to have serious trouble denting Chavez's chin or body with any shots.

And if Roach can continue to improve Chavez's footwork and teach him to cut off the ring better against Martinez, Maravilla could be in some trouble, especially since Martinez's defense relies almost solely on athleticism and not proper defensive technique.

Chavez is just so damn HUGE for a middleweight. He can bull through just about anyone. Combine that with his body punching, which I think is among the very best in the sport, his tungsten chin and power, and he has a solid chance to beat Martinez.

Let's have that fight in September, please! Bob Arum and Lou DiBella can work together, so make it happen!

Danny Garcia surprises Amir Khan with a thunderous left hook. 3 knockdowns later. It's over. Action packed fight. Amir showed a ton of heart after the first knockdown. Danny Garcia is fun to watch.

Khan is "Glass Joe" from Mike Tyson's Punch-Out. His jaw is just too fragile to be an elite fighter.

Garcia looked shaken after the second round. But he was counter-punching effectively from the opening bell of Round 1, which gave him a chance at any time against Khan's paper-mache jaw. And Garcia delivered with that big counter left hook to the ear and neck of Khan.

Khan showed plenty of heart after he hit the canvas twice. But he either needs to return to the UK and fight the European circuit or risk becoming an opponent for rising stars at 140. Khan should avoid 147 -- where there are some bigger hitters -- like genital warts.

But who can Khan beat at 140 now? Marcos Maidana? No. Maidana has too much power and has experience against Khan. Lucas Matthysse? Fat chance. Matthysse has WAY too much power for Khan. Marquez? Uh, no. JMM would counter-punch Khan into oblivion. Brandon Rios? That's a demolition.

Devon Alexander is the only competitive opponent among elites at 140 for Khan, if Alexander stops dabbling at welterweight. Alexander probably doesn't have the power to hurt Khan. But give probably a wide berth here because Khan's chin is lousy. Hell, even Paulie Malignaggi might be able to hurt Khan.

Freddie Roach can sharpen defense. He can teach Khan a more coordinated attack. But he can't put tungsten implants into his chin.

Had a GREAT time Saturday night at the HBO boxing card at the Turning Stone Casino, about 45 minutes from my house. Went with three buddies. We drank, smoked cigars, gambled, checked out the "sights" and watched eight fights, including two that were televised on HBO. Drank and ate for free since my buddy won $500 playing blackjack before we entered the arena.

Fantastic atmosphere, with a lively group of Poles, Kazakhs and Ukrainians since the card included fighters from those nations. You'll never find a more diverse, international and interesting sporting crowd in the U.S. than at a boxing match.

We had great seats. Sixth row, center ring. Just $45 each. In fact, look at the head of the fighter in the green trunks below. Then look to your right. The bald f*ck wearing glasses and a royal blue golf shirt is me, in a heaven mixed with cigars, alcohol, friends and the Sweet Science.
