Sometime in October these bad boys will be showing up in retailers near you.

Is the rumor true about that thing being the third launch SKU for the Xbox 360? If so, the f*cker better have a hard drive. :)

Take care,

All that is missing from that picture is a 5 year old hanging from the controller.

Kind of on a similar line there is a rumor that Microsoft paid people to go to Walmart and other stores to purposely break the controllers on the PS2 and Gamecube kiosks so they could not play them.

I doubt they had to pay anyone. There are enough fanboys out there, that I'm sure it happened before MS even got the bright idea to do that anyway.

Controllers are wireless but still tethered.

Hope they keep them charged up.

Has there been any real advertising for the xbox360? I have not seen anything on mainstream tv or on radio selling it. I wonder how many general consumers know it's coming out. Or is MS relying on hardcore gamer sales for the first few months?

They did the MTV special a few months back for the coming out party. As has been mentioned on a few threads X05 which is in early October is where a bunch of things are supposed to happen and media released. There was also a delay of EA media (and probably other publishers) to October 5th due to magazines getting exclusives.

The kids seem to know about it, and that's a lot of the battle right there. Whatever they've done, it seems to have worked so far.

Our controllers at work for Gamecube, XBox, and PS2 kiosks are all broken right now. Kids think that you can just hold on and use them as monkey bars. The Gamecube and PS2 ones get broken the most I'd say.
