XBOX LIVE : HOW WILL IT BE SOLD?

Is Xbox Live going to be sold in stores like :
 
 
 AOL? Where you get a free disc, bring it home, then register your creditcard online and everything is charged online?
 
 or
 
 
 Like a game? Where you go into the store, Xbox Live is 49.99; just like buying any other game like madden or gta.
 
 Reason I ask is if I buy it at the store for 49.99, do I still need to give my creditcard information online? And is that another 49.99 charge, making the total 100 dollars??
 
 If it is like just buying a game for 49.99, possibly could blockbuster rent it like any other game rental? Reason I ask is say I want to test xbox live and I borrow it from someone I know. If I borrow it, would I have to pay the 49.99 right there in the XBL setup screen or since my freind already bought the XBL software for 49.99, can I just go ahead and make my gaming tag and test it out for free?

 The boys on the SR Forums answered this correctly, but basically $49.99 at retail will buy you the Xbox Live hardware and a one-year subscription. Then you need to enter a credit-card number when signing up for the first time, for extra-cost content in the future (roster downloads are free now) and for MS to keep on file if you continue the service after the first year.
 
 Basically, $50 is all you need to spend for the first year to get everything.

PK, when do you normally be online with MotoGP. not a racing fan by any stretch, but this game is the s*** on Xbox live. originally owned the full version, but traded it in since I wasn´t playing much. I´ve been online quite a bit in the last few days and have been looking for you in different lobbies with no luck. I would definitely like to try my luck against you in a race, of course you´d probably kick my ass, but I like the competition. I´m normally on around 1030-11pm cst.

 I haven´t been on Xbox Live since Thursday or Friday night.
 
 I was quite busy over the weekend playing other games for review, writing, reading and watching sports on TV.

hey Pk i loved your article on xbox live and will definately be picking it up!!!!! i too was skeptical but i think i got the genious of it when you talked about hearing all those voices that has to be soo coolll to talk to people your playing against..... awesome
