I was going to start off with "I can't believe it..." - but perhaps I should have known - my 360 died (good old 3 rings of death). This is the first console I ever had die on me - of the disc based systems I've had PSX that still works, two PS2s (one I bought on launch day and a second slimline one...

Over time the driver has factored less and less in driving the car. It use to be the other way around. I recently read that first the engineers design the car before even considering who they want to drive it because F1 is 80% car and 20% driver. I wish they went back to manual transmissions but I a...

F1 is downright boring nowadays if you compare it to say the 60's-90's when cars actually passed because todays F1 is all about Aero and that hinders any type of passing or excitement we saw back in the Senna, Mansell era. Felipe Massa said it perfectly yesterday in the press conference. Unless your...

The only thing this game is missing is rumble, other than that it's one of the best console F1 racers ever made. My favorite is still Formula 1 Championship Edition which came out in 1997, for it's time it was the best. Scoop did you know you can turn off damage in an online race? When you do that a...

Well said and i'm not the biggest TG fan either but i've learned to bury the hatchet a long time ago. TG did bust his butt and did a damn fine job hosting the USGP. The F1 fiasco a few couple ago still stinks IMO. Bernie should be grateful Tony was willing to put up with his troll @ss for so long. H...

You have to consider their priorites. With the ps3 being last in sales, I can see why they and 2k might not have had the time to get the game up to par this year on it. Good point but that shouldn't be an excuse for EA because it would only prove they only care about the bottom line and not quality...

I can't EA a free pass either based on the last generation as well. The Xbox was clearly the most power system of the three and yet most EA Sports games suffered from framerate and other issues that did not effect the PS2. ;) That's why I can't give them a pass. Wrt 2K I do give them a free pass bec...

That said, it's inexcusable for companies not to be able to deliver equivalent experiences on the two consoles. Especially from a company like EA. You would think they were struggling to make a dime the way the bastards acted. The way the butchered some of the ports to the Xbox was pathetic. Looks ...

Well according to Tony G. and the Indy Star, the USGP is on thin ice and as Tony says "it's a coin flip" whether or not it will be back in 2008 for it's ninth season. Tony also said that under the current contract he would not sign another contract because it doesn't bring no where near the money th...

Did that last night, too! And damage usually is terminal, right after the first impact. The first time that happened to me, I said to myself: "What the f*ck? I'm done?" because no console rally game ever had sudden, terminal damage from one hit. But almost immediately I said to myself, "Man, that's...

there's always Richard Burns Rally on the PC to satisfy your pure rally jones. I got a little bit loose last night and nearly finished the Rally School, finally feeling "the zone" with RBR that I always felt with CMR games on the console. But the zone in RBR is even more challenging to reach, so it...

I'm using a 7600GT 256MB and Grant's fix worked perfect. Thanks! I just watched an AI race and it was just like watching a race on TV. Now, off to see if I can get my controller configured. That's where i've had issues trying to properly configure a Logitech Rumble Pad controller. It does work but ...

This shows how crappy the 360's really are when it comes to reliability. http://www.weplayxbox.com/2007/06/28/exclusive-uk-company-has-had-enough-of-repairing-xbox-360/ Exclusive: UK company has had enough of repairing Xbox 360 Xbox 360 The plot thickens! Very cool GP4 race experience. Those are the same reasons I to this day play GP4. It has without question the best and most realistic racing AI and mimics a weekend Grand Prix. What Geoff Crammond was able to pull off in GP4 was cutting edge. Now that Sony is losing the F1 license hopefully we might...

I tend to believe this article that the failure rate is somewhere in the 30% range. For the record I still have my launch system which so far works with almost no problems. http://www.smarthouse.com.au/Home/D3Q7G8S2 This is a HORRIBLY sourced story. The reporter talked with ONE EB Games manager in ...

Saw this post in their forums: "While the circuit of Phoenix still this in development, put the track of Indianápolis in the place, temporarily. " So maybe for the moment they are just placeholders. Thanks I saw that myself on a couple of other forums. My problem now is that all the tracks are out ...

I don't see the tracks either. I just figured they were using the new ones in place of the old, are they supposed to be the actual tracks? I would love to do Phoenix again, I remember playing the heck out of that track in World Circuit Racing. Heck, I'll even run the ostrich track! Yeah all t...

Thats too bad, because GP4 is very good. Still, it's not like there aren't a lot of other great racing games out there. I did finally try the 1991 mod, and it is very cool. Even the race graphics that pop up look like the TV graphics from back then. Having Murray Walker is kind of cool too. (We nee...

Jimmy, good call on F1 Gamers, at least until the place was overran by 12 year olds. Before you start, I was 18 when I registered there... GP4 had some of the best racing AI of any sim I've ever played, but I've never been able to stop it from CTD. I don't know if anyone else has had that issue wit...
