Re: Madden 21
You're not the same MizzouRah who has the slider set over at OperationSports, are you? Not sure if that's a common nickname or not. I've been using that slider set recently and have had some pretty amazing games on the series X version. **Edit** Considering it's the same username and the same city/s...

Re: MS Flight Simulator
They're extremely clunky to use, which is why they've never taken off. You are turning your head, changing the view on your center monitor, yet keeping your eyes locked into the center. And back when I used them, you had to use a hat with a little reflector on the bill, too. Made the whole thing wei...

Make sure to turn cascading shadows down to Medium. It about doubles the framerate.

Re: Racing Sim Thread, Part II
No impressions from me, PK, but I've been looking for some over the last few days. I'm not convinced half the folk uploading videos of the game know which one's their arse and which one's their elbow, but I thought Billy Strange did a nice job with his review: https://youtu.be/cfdQEW0TsSo Bought it...

Re: Madden 21
Not surprisingly, I feel quite differently about this year's version. I didn't read any impressions anywhere or watch any gameplay before it released. The biggest changes this year completely change the game for me (DL pass rush moves and penalties). I am actually having a blast playing defense, jus...

For sure. Been excited for this one for a while. May not play it until Friday night, but I will probably cave and try it out on Thursday when it unlocks.

Re: Racing Sim Thread, Part II
That's why I was so happy to find this community early on. I know Don joined and has run a couple of the hot lap challenges, but we have so many things going on...."Hump Day DTM" races with the German cars. Multi-class GTE/GT3/GT4 on a different track each week. Of course I drive in almost all the E...

Re: Racing Sim Thread, Part II
WTF? Bizarre. No thank you. I am so deeply engrossed in iRacing now, that it seems like nothing else matters. The Discord community I help manage is up over 1,000 members, with multiple community races every week. It's about all I have time for. It's getting so big that Tony Kanaan joined our little...

Not gonna lie...that was the closest I've come to throwing a controller in years, Sudz. No trick or gimmick, just gotta get lucky with not running into tables or walls.

Re: The Last of Us 2
Finished it up yesterday. I could definitely see why guys lost their minds and posted such bad reviews, but what I imagine to be their big problem didn't bother me as much. At first I was a little "wtf?", but I got over it pretty quickly. Naughty Dog told the story they wanted to tell. I'm not going...

Don't know, I've never needed to do that. But I guess you could just save the profiles in Fanalab and load them as necessary.

Re: Racing Sim Thread, Part II
Not unless it's a new game. I literally have one profile I use for all cars in iRacing, and I just adjust strength in-sim based on whether it's dirt, oval, road, or a car strength difference. Then save controls for that car and it's like that moving forward. In other sims, sometimes I have multiple ...

Re: Racing Sim Thread, Part II
After reading your post I decided to go with the trial version once more. I'm glad I did... there's not a lot you can do with the force feedback and steering wheel response. Even though what it defaults to is closer to a good setting for my tastes than I would have imagined, not being able to get t...

You should join the Discord community: https://discord.gg/vVGXhw So many guys there, and so much helpful info. We're running community races constantly, too. We had great daytimes, and a horrible night. Went from leading early down to as low as 20th. Ended up finishing P13 out of 54 on the grid, but...

Re: Racing Sim Thread, Part II
Same with the sim gear eyeballing! This is my home now: No VR? Graphics take a dive in resolution, but the immersion factor is unreal. I can't do a serious sim in 2D anymore. I've got an Oculus Rift, and an Oculus Rift S. The clarity is the biggest drawback--as is comfort over long sessions. Barely...

Can't dispute that at all. The console should be treated as such, and the default native controller as the primary development method. Anything else should be secondary.

Yeah, for sure. I joined it in June of 2008, and it's only grown exponentially since then. I've only recently really started getting into it heavily, though. A few leagues I'm in have live broadcasts with commentators and everything, which has been my first experience with the "big league" presentat...

Re: Dirt Rally 2.0 coming 26 February 2019
Still running the crap out of this. Been using the "Up to 2000cc" I think it's called, and those things are an absolute BLAST to drive. I got some new gear (wheel rim, pedals, cockpit, seat) which have transformed pretty much every bit of racing I do nowadays...but if this league is coming, I'm stil...

Re: Racing Sim Thread, Part II
There's been a simracing exposure explosion in the past week. It's all over the news in simracing circles. Pretty unprecedented level of exposure across all disciplines.
