I switched to a Mac almost a full year ago. A 13.3" macbook. I wanted to use Logic as my DAW, that was the main reason for the switch. It had nothing to do with the Virus issue (it's a non-issue, if you have any capability at all with a Windows PC.) Positives: ======= - The general stability is far ...

I've been burned out on console/PC games for a while I think. I keep trying out the "next best thing" (Fallout 3, MLB 09, Killzone, Resident Evil) and they're just not grabbing me. I'm now mostly playing DS games. Simpler games in general, and I can squeeze in some game time pretty much whenever I w...

I'm on week 6. Wife and I are doing it together. I've lost 8 pounds, at least an inch on the waiste (went from 3rd hole on the belt to 5th hole). My wife hasn't lost any weight, but has put on some muscle and her waiste is smaller too. It will kick your ass. Plyometrics especially will have you begg...

Most people (adults) don't wear them. Most kids do. It's similar to people riding bikes in my area. Force the kids to wear one, then mommy and daddy go on their bikes without one. WTF? (I always wear one.) I wear one. It's a no brainer. I started wearing one in the 90s when I switched to mainly snow...

I want an Ipod Touch. Just can't pull the trigger Looks like I'm selling mine. Bought it a couple weeks before the 2nd Gen came out. Has a very slight scratch on the back, but is otherwise like new (it's been well protected.. the scratch came from a case I tried when I first bought it... stupid cas...

1. Eat better
2. Communicate better with my wife.
3. Stop lusting after music gear. Try to get rid of the GAS (Gear Acquisition Syndrome) somehow.

OT: Crazy Deal on MIA Jazz Bass at Guitar Center

I know some people here might be interested. GC is blowing out 2008 Fender MIA Jazz basses in "Blizzard Pearl" colour for $599. This is INSANE. The regular price these sell for is $1149. Fender 2008 MIA Jazz basses are amazing. Fender got a new boss and the Quality control has skyrocketed over the p...

The first year that I got my own set of golf clubs, brand new... brings back memories. They were the best my parents could afford, and they were really heavy and not very good at all (looking back.) I was unbelievable excited. I knew my parents pushed the limit financially to get me those and I appr...

I fully agree with the comment about setup. Alignment on the setup is necessary or you have no chance of hitting the shot you are thinking of. A few years back I was in real trouble with my swing, no predictability at all, and I was pretty damn money with the long game most of my life, especially wi...

We've got them. My kids are 8, and 6 (almost 7). They always wear the protective glasses when playing with them, and we've set up some rules where they can only shoot low if they are playing where they shoot at each other. There's been a few minor problems, where one kid (either mine or the neighbou...

I've put this on my Christmas wish list but have read some web sites where it doesn't work well with OSX... issues even transferring videos, have to run some other software to convert to a format for iMovie...

Have any of you tried to use it with iMovie on the latest macbooks? Does it work well?

facebook originally because my nieces and nephews are, and have met some old friends there as well. Some people I jam with are on there too, so I get pictures of stuff that way.

LinkedIn for work contacts. Major spike in activity recently with all the turmoil at AMD.

Do you guys use openOffice or did you purchase MS office. $99 for Home and Student edition right now if I purchase it with the laptop (have 14 days to do so.) I figure Open Office is free... which is good enough for me.

Well, it is certainly not 100% crash proof (didn't really expect it to be) Machine hung today. I was using my guitarport with gearbox software, had sound OUTPUT routed to the guitarport, so that I could load up youtube videos and play bass along with them through the guitarport. Played a couple tune...

Safari is working well so far. I love the multi-touch controls. 3 fingers swipe left for back, right for front. 4 fingers for task switching. I might want something to protect this thing. I didn't get the pro. I bought the new Aluminum MacBook that came out a few weeks ago. 2.4ghz, 4gb ram, 250gb HD and a 9400M graphics chip. Finally took the plunge to get a mac. Got the same machine today. I am impressed. I have a lot to figure out, but it sure is a nice, polished machine. Which br...

Had my first freeze on PS3. Started with no voice overs during conversations, then I went to access my Pip boy, and it froze. Had to reboot the PS3.

Other than that, the game is running great on PS3.
