EA + NFL license = accurate historic team data?
This just crossed my mind tonight. Will the new agreement give EA the resources to make accurate historic teams/numbers?
In fact can they now use actual player names?
If so that would be one of the few good things that come out of this otherwise terrible deal.

Digital Audio on the Xbox....how big a difference does it...
How big a difference does digital audio cables make? I game on the Xbox and use the standard cables. Recently I ordered the Monster Game Component cables along with the Digital Audio lightwave cable. I also ordered a new 5.1 surround sound Onkyo receiver. So, who uses digital audio cables and how mu...

I cringe to consider what EA and the Madden series would become if not for some friendly competition. With this in mind I dont like the dirty politics EA is using in an attempt to dominate the market. I guess you could say Im rooting for the little guy. Case in point - look at what happened to NCAA ...

I'll make this short and sweet. Ive played a version of Madden every year since 91. Until this year Ive NEVER FELT another football game offered as solid an experience as Madden has. This includes Tecmo Bowl, QB Club, Lameday, 2k whatever and all the past versions of ESPN. Year after year nothing ho...

Im glad to hear its doing well. Its far too good a game to NOT sell. Although Im a big Madden fan I feel EA needs healthy competition. Its keeps both companies aggressive and in the end thats good for Joe Gamer. I would be disappointed if ESPN doesnt stick around for a return next year. Btw- anyone ...

Last night I played three games in a row and selected the nickle/dime defense almost everytime. Low and behold I started to give up lots of running yardage while teams stuggled to pass on me. That said Im still having trouble defending pass plays when I control the player defending the receiver. Rig...

TRI - I sorta figured as much. I typically use my first season as a testing ground for adjusting sliders. I'll usually play 4 games at a time and tweak as I go. Thus far Ive increased the computers running ability but I havent increased blocking nor did I increase their passing effectiveness. Btw- i...

Good to see youre still around wco. As you mentioned the Sony and Samsung projection sets (LCD and DLP) looked really jaggy when displaying the game. Granted, if you get away from the TV far enough its not as noticable. Although I want a wide screen LCD I may hold off until the next gen consoles are...

Defending the pass. Maybe I simply need more practice but Ive been playing non-stop for 2 weeks and still struggle to break up passes. My second biggest issue is the total and utter lack of a running game mounted by the AI. Wow... I use the Redskins who dont have a d-lineman rated over 80 and yet I ...

That the game doesnt look as good on DLP's and rear projection LCD's as I had hoped. I tested several models at a local Circuit City and came away unimpressed. I did discover that a traditional tubed TV looks fantastic. I tested a $1200 36" sony HD trinitron with a tri comb filter and it provided th...

IMHO Madden is traditionally much better on the PC if you have a PC capable of running the game at high resolution. High res = much cleaner graphics. Outside of graphics the gameplay, animations and control are almost identical. Since I own a fairly powerful PC AND I have a top notch 21" monitor its...
