Well, here's my wild goose update: Did some legwork and scouted out the various outlets I was planning on hitting, to see how many units, what time they open, what the procedure would be, etc. The Walmart is a disaster. It was hard to find an employee who spoke english, and when I did I was told no...

How is the geometry on your TV? Look at some channels that have a news/sports ticker on the bottom and on the top. Does the lines curve up or down at the edges? You will also notice it in sports games on the consoles.sportdan30 wrote:Well, this cheap gamer just picked up a Samsung 26" HDTV CRT at Best Buy.

Re: Just my two cents on Madden 360 after watching videos
Be smart folks. Just because something looks prettier doesn't mean it plays better. Well PUCK ME! There you go folks, a pucking great review of gameplay from a video! Has any of these pucking GEEKS even played the game, I'm I right to believe that all this fuss is over video footage? Puck next time...

Try running scandisk with Windows 98 on your bad hard drive, I had a similar problem earlier this year with running a dual boot of Windows XP and ME where XP would not boot and it showed no files on the hard drive in which it was installed, I ran scandisk with Windows ME on the hard drive to which ...

Re: $60 titles for next-gen
For myself, at launch, I'll probably grab only two titles at $120 when I might likely grab three if it were only $150. That kind of money will get you a Gamefly/BlockBuster pass for 6 months. I'm sure you can do with 2 games out at a time with gamefly, return them when your done, get another one. Y...

OT: Hard Drive Failure
I have a computer that has both XP and Win98, I also have a seperate hard drive that has been partitoned into 2 drives as a slave. The drive is fine in the second partition, but the first one is causing lock ups. I'm able to copy some of the data, but when trying to copy other parts it causes a syst...

A RPTV would be too big for him, the one that I mentioned is a tube TV. Why would anyone get rid of a set that is still the best out on the market today? Unless you run out of space? Here is the one Best Buy has @ under $800.... http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/-/-/-/SY_D...

CRT still has best picture for the money. You should be able to find 30-inch widescreens for $1000 or less. That should be close in size to the 32-inch LCD (not sure if that's a 4:3 or 16:9). If space ISN'T an issue, then you might as well just get a 47 or a 48 inch rear projection CRT HDTV like I ...

Sport, Appreciate this thread. I'm toying with the idea of purchasing an HDTV, however I am on a rather inexpensive budget. What is your feelings on going with an HDTV CRT? I've read where the picture quality is excellent I'm not necessarily concerned with saving space as I am more about saving mon...

Re: HDTV/Gaming setup for cheap gamers!
I posted this at another forum regarding HDTV, but I figured I'd copy it here since it's a good solution for a gamer looking for a new setup on a budget...$999 for a 32" LCD HDTV is not bad, and the performance is more than adequate for all but the most discerning AV geeks. ------------------------...

$100 on dinner?? I better be getting blown for dessert!! I am hanging on to my XBOX because it still has some miles in it for me. NBA2K is a fun game offline to me and I enjoy MotoGP on XBL. I also pointed out that I'm digging two PC games now. So $400 compared to $0 is not a bargain for me. Like I...

I have an HDTV, but I don't see the 360 at $400 to be a bargain. If I was single still, I'd get one on launch just like the DC, PS2, and XBOX. If I didn't have a child on the way, I'd probably be lining up in three weeks too. By the way, is there a complete list of backward compatible games out the...

I'll pay the extra buck per bag for water softener so I can avoid the crowds, idiot employees and clientele and support a neat, tidy hardware store owned by a local person who provides excellent service and actually knows something about his products when a question is as...

If you're doing video conversions, I'd check out Videora iPod Converter. It's worked good for me so far, and took about 35-40 minutes to transcode one episode of Lost that I had on the ol' hard drive. Quality and sound seem quite good. And it's very very very easy to use. http://www.videora.com/en-...

Grid, the new ipodvideo looks sharp and thin but that battery surely sucks like a Hoover if you have only 2hours left after watching a show. DB, I don't know how Sony did it but I don't think any CO can come close to 30 hours of play after a recharge, mind you, the Sony doens't play video. Speaking...
