Re: Racing Season 2021 (Spoiler Alert)

I just want to take a moment to sh*t on the Haas F1 team. I've found their disposition to be generally off-putting for years. Comments like these from the (admittedly entertaining) Guenther Steiner in 2018 certainly didn't help. "Just having an American driver who maybe cannot compete at a certain l...

Re: Monster Jam Steel Titans 2

I logged in hoping to see your thoughts on the game since you were such a fan of the first one. Looks like one I'll want to grab for me and my kid.

Re: Fifa 21 News

Wondering if it is messed up because I started with the EA Access trial, did the upgrade to Series X version, deleted, then purchased a physical copy of the game. Thankfully load times are short, but still really annoying. And am I missing anything, or is the transfer negotiation process incredibly ...

Does quick resume work for everyone on the Xbox Series X? I'm getting a complete game reboot even if it is the last game I've played

Re: NFL Season 2020-2021

Agree with everyone about Jac Collinsworth, gross nepotism. Josh Allen is exhibit A for the importance of coaching and a kid's ability to be coached. In the wrong situation Allen could have one foot out of the league already, but instead the Bills did a great job fixing his flaws, developing the obv...

Re: NFL Season 2020-2021

Did anyone else watch the Nickelodeon coverage of Saints/Bears? I thought they did a fantastic job and it was incredibly refreshing to have coverage treat it as a sports event and not the most important thing in the world. And holy cow, Ian Eagle's son Noah with Nate Burleson needs a bigger stage, p...

Re: Merry Christmas, fellas

Merry Christmas everyone. I’m looking forward to a “no assembly required” Christmas morning for both of my boys.

The wrapping is done, stockings are close to done, and Coming to America is just starting. Time to pour another drink and enjoy the rest of the night.

Re: Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5

I also received a pleasant surprise, my wife got me a Series X for a combined birthday/Christmas present--sometimes it really pays off to have a birthday right around Christmas! I haven't had a ton of time with it yet, but Forza Horizon 4 looks really good but the load time improvements is the bigge...

Re: Racing Season 2020 (Spoiler Alert)

I agree, it's 100% the right move for Red Bull and fantastic for Checo. Going to be fascinating to see how Perez stacks up to Saint Max, I think Max rather enjoyed having a clear #2 driver (both in name and pace) alongside compared to his time alongside Ricciardo. But I feel for Albon, maybe at some...

Re: Cyberpunk 2077

Interesting to see how this shakes out because Sony tends to be a dick when it comes to refunds. There are already media reports that Sony has refused gamers a refund even though the developer told them to reach out to Microsoft and Sony for a refund. The developer telling their fans to reach out t...

Re: Racing Season 2020 (Spoiler Alert)

Somehow Abu Dhabi managed to live down to my expectations, can't stand races at that track both in real life and virtual. Just start over or find a way to run a different layout, please. And it is remarkable how much faster the old Renault looked, isn't it? They're 5 seconds a lap faster than the in...

Re: Racing Season 2020 (Spoiler Alert)

What. A. Race. We got... A lap one crash that had Max Verstappen complaining about other drivers being too aggressive (quite rich) Martin Brundle going on and on about how Perez caused the lap one incident because surely he needed to leave the apex open in case someone aimed right at his rear tire P...

Re: Racing Season 2020 (Spoiler Alert)

Any chance this ends up with Mercedes paying Williams to run Bottas next season? Sure would be a statement if Russell outpaces him out of the gate, Bottas need to turn his form around, especially in the race

Re: Racing Season 2020 (Spoiler Alert)

I'm VERY interested to see how the replacement driver does vs. Bottas, and any of those three are fine with me. Hulkenberg is probably my sentimental preference, for the very reason you called out.

How about George Russell? That could be fun, want to see how that kid really stacks up.

Re: Racing Season 2020 (Spoiler Alert)

The next safety challenge for racing is a replacement for Armco barriers. They're so unsafe. One would think another alternative would have been developed after Francois Cevert was decapitated in 1973 at Watkins Glen after his car went through an Armco barrier in the United States Grand Prix. Yet h...

Re: Racing Season 2020 (Spoiler Alert)

It's been a while since I've been as frightened by a crash as Grosjean's this weekend. My son and I settled in to watch the start of the F1 race and holy sh*t I was nearly certain we lost him--not just the raging fire but also horrendous angle of the impact into the Armco barrier. Every replay, came...

Not to throw this off topic but any of you guys hear from Terry lately? How about Lance Stroll? He's got a heck of a feel in the rain, it was impressive to see him run out into the lead before fading due to the dreaded graining (from front end damage, they claim). Great drives from everyone on the podium, refreshing to see Vettel with a solid run.

Re: Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5

Wow, I really haven't been paying attention. For some reason I thought the Xbox backwards compatibility was broader than it is, mostly with the original Xbox--there are a couple games I've held onto over the years (like Codemasters' IndyCar) in case I end up able to play them again down the road. Bu...

Oh, I noticed and purchased it.

Of course I also decided f it, let's try a GT3 in iRacing and instantly loved driving the Ferrari around Watkins Glen so I haven't done anything other than download ACC. But looking forward to spending time with it soon.

Re: Racing Season 2020 (Spoiler Alert)

Bottas is no Rosberg, and I can't figure out if it is more damning for Bottas or praise for Rosberg. Maybe both. Over time I've forgotten about just how dominant some of the Schumacher/Ferrari years were, but at least some seasons had more variability than we see today. Part of that is from Ferrari'...

Re: Racing Season 2020 (Spoiler Alert)

How about the opening few laps in Portugal? The onboard from Kimi's car was unreal, like he was playing with AI set way too low on a racing sim. Seeing Sainz zip past both Mercedes to take the lead, also unreal. Once the harder tires worked into their operating window the inevitable happened, but st...

Re: Racing Season 2020 (Spoiler Alert)

It's wild thinking that next season's road courses could feature a 7-time NASCAR champ and the reigning 3-time Supercars champion in addition to Dixon, Newgarden and the rest of the deeply talented Indycar field.
