Re: Rocket League

My first post here in ages, but just to spread the love for Rocket League. My family has spent more time with this than any game in recent memory, gamers and non-gamers alike. It's the perfect offline multiplayer game. Has my vote for game of the year, seriously. If you have PS+ run and don't walk t...

Re: FIFA 14 News

Just picked up FIFA last night for the PS4. I was wondering if there are any settings I should play around with. Is the default game speed the best? What about sliders? Do you guys use manual passing/shooting? Any tips to get started would be great, thanks! Also, I'm definitely up for some online p...

Re: XBox One AND PS4 Discussion

I take back all the nasty things I said about remote play - the day 1 problems must have been connected to the PSN issues and all the updates downloading in the background. Now it works flawlessly - FIFA is definitely playable, even more so if I can get used to the back pad for L2 and R2. No more PS...

Re: XBox One AND PS4 Discussion

Wow, those Madden guys sure do have freakishly long legs... After an evening with the PS4 I can say I like it but can't help feeling a little underwhelmed. Throughout, the PSN downtime was hugely annoying. This better not last. I agree with DB completely on the dashboard interface - it's fast enough...

Re: XBox One AND PS4 Discussion

I'm all in with the PS4 - planning to cancel my Live Gold subscription and phase out Xbox altogether. These days I can really only justify one system and can live without Forza more than i can without The Show. Got the BF4 bundle, FIFA and NBA2K which should keep me busy through the holidays. I defi...

Re: Tiger Woods 14 thread, part II

I'm starting to really feel old, but I just continue to be mystified that this is the state of the art in golf sims in 2013, particularly when I can still fire up the old Links Pro on PC, enjoy a round and remember the promise held by the Links release on the original Xbox. Maybe it's just me, but t...

Talk about old, my first was Thorn-EMI Soccer for the Atari 800 - ran on a tape, if I remember correctly.

Re: Warning re. EURO 2012 add-on for FIFA

The licensing issue is pathetic - I don't know a nicer way to put it. EA claims 29 of the 53 sides are licensed, but others have counted only 20. Russia, Poland, Ukraine, Wales are just some of the teams with fake kits and player names. Gameplay seems to be a mixed bag. Some things seem to be improv...

Re: Pro Evo 13

I still think PES 2011 has the best gameplay of all the next-gen PESs. I never could get into the arcady 2012 and 2010 had some fatal flaws (though I can't remember exactly what they were, but seem to recall they involved fouls not being called). Must say I'm not terribly optimistic to see the ball-...

Warning re. EURO 2012 add-on for FIFA

http://forum.ea.com/uk/posts/list/1635131.page Wish to hell I would've read this before I sprung for the DLC. I know there generally are a few licenses left out in something like this, but with only 29 licensed (and not even the two hosts) I can't help but think EA's trying to cut costs and hope nob...

Re: Playstation Vita

The manual is on the game disc. Just press the playstation button, go to the game screen and look at it. Not that big of a deal. Yeah I know it is on the disc I would still prefer a manual with the game, especially when being on the disc sometimes amounts to opening up a web browser to get the manu...

You should be fine - you can also shuffle content between the PC or PS3 pretty easily if need be.

Re: Playstation Vita

One word of note: there is already a system update out so when you initially set up your Vita you will not be able to put in your PSN account information until you update. You have to select the second option on the screen that asks about PSN stuff and then update the system and go back and do the ...

Re: Playstation Vita

DB, the graphics don't bother me at all, in fact I kinda prefer the blurred look as it makes it easier to focus on the track. But I do see where others have a point - check out this post on the Codemasters forum comparing screens from the VITA and PSP versions: http://community.codemasters.com/forum...

Re: Playstation Vita

No problems here either. The sticks seem a little loose and twitchy in F1, but I think that's normal. What are your thoughts on F1? I'm enjoying it. Yes, the graphics are horrible, but I really don't notice too much at 200 mph. At least the frame rates don't drop much (thought they still do a littl...

Agreed on the addictiveness of VT - I'm finding myself spending more time in its career mode than the rest of my games combined. Re: Playstation Vita

Agree with DB completely. The pros vastly overwhelm the cons but for those of us used to the PSP the novelty is not all that great. There's a ton of capability built into the system and the more I get familiar with what it can do the more I'm liking it. There is absolutely no denying it's an amazing...

Re: Playstation Vita

Thanks for the early game impressions boys. Blubub, I am really digging Fifa 12 this year and enjoy the new tactical defending. I just don't like dudes sliding all over the place as in years past and if this version plays like, I'll be disappointed. Is there not an option for tactical D? No, defini...

Re: Playstation Vita

Got mine. System itself is pretty impressive. Not real nuts about some interface decisions, but on the whole not too bad. So far only have played FIFA. Definitely pros and cons. On the plus side it looks absolutely amazing, I think 95 percent as good as the console versions. The back pad shooting is...

wco sums it up nicely. I've had good luck with Sony over the years, and my HDTV from Sony has held up wonderfully. Panasonic is another brand that I've had good luck with. Re: Playstation Vita

It looks like the free PSN game is tied to you buying a month of 3G. So basically it's a wash if you cancel after the month because you get a voucher for Stardust. I seem to recall reading you also get a free month of 3G and that you get the game after that month is up. I could certainly be wrong, ...
