No it wasn't.
Back into a somewhat regular video gaming routine again (it's only taken about 8 years or so).

I've been trying to get into the open beta (not frantically by any means, but still). Glad to hear that the game is living up to its hype, for now it seems.

Brando: Even Panny 720p sets have 100K hours of life on them (starting with the new 2008 models, which I just displayed a couple of the other day). I wasn't trying to start a debate, but with the response that plasma gets in here, I wouldn't be surprised if people were seriously afraid of buying a p...

I'm going to the Gigantour in a month to check out acts such as Megadeth, In Flames, Children of Bodom, Lost Cowboy, and High on Fire. I'm not really even a metal fan, but I wanted to check a metal concert out and figured this would be one of the more over the top ones, and I might even remember som...

I cannot understand all the hoopla with plasma and burn-in these days. Manufacturers (especially quality manufacturers like Panasonic and Pioneer) have gone to great lengths to virtually eliminate issues like burn-in, unless you purposely try to burn in an image by leaving a DVD menu on for weeks, o...

I watched "The Mist" last night, mostly at the urging of my girlfriend because of the ending, and it was actually a lot better than I thought it'd be. It's really overtly a metaphor for the reaction to 9/11, but if you can get past that and not be bothered by it, it's pretty decent. A good rental. A...

The Leafs can hold onto their incredibly slim playoff hopes by winning tonight, but even if so they'll most likely be knocked out anyway. Too bad Sundin and Antropov had to be injured at such a critical time in the season (although the team played well anyway) but it's really too bad that the team d...

Just figured that I'd throw in a public "finger crossing" for the Leafs to beat Boston tonight (already down 1-0) and the second game in their home and home. Should be great hockey for the fans of both teams.

Another rough game for your Bruins tonight.

Leafs and Philly is going to be a real interesting matchup later on this week, with a home and home series. It's about the only thing keeping the dream alive for Leafs fans.

It's probably going to be seen as cliche, but he's pretty much the only Leaf who would drop them on a regular basis: Wade Belak is a fairly tough fellow and he's taken on some of the best with positive results.

Yeah, I was about to ask how the hell Kubina ever got a NTC. I think his agent asked JFJ and he looked at the board of directors, and then Kubina said, "Pretty please" and they all crumbled under that kind of pressure. I like how Fletcher said yesterday that the "core of the team is intact" which t...

I can't quite understand why a player like Kubina was given such a fantastic contract, with an iron-clad NTC clause, to begin with. I mean, he's been decent over his career but not THAT good. I hope that the Leafs learned something over this deadline, and that signing every player to NTC isn't exact...

And AirDog's not gonna be happy, as Belak was traded for a 5th round pick. I can't say I'm shocked that Belak got moved, because he hasn't exactly played much this season. I'm happy for him because he can at least get soms ice time now (hopefully). I sent him an email message today (he always respo...

Apparenly Sundin's not even sure if he's going to be playing next year, but I'm pretty sure he will be. I'm not going to say that the Leafs couldn't use the players/draft picks they would have gotten from trading Sundin, but I'm not too sure that he's a selfish prick either. For me, it's sort of ref...

I've heard some things that some teams are considering shying away from Sundin because they're afraid that he'll be emotionally distraught if he's traded away from the Leafs. I don't put much stock into that theory, because he really does control his own fate. I still can't envision a Leafs team wit...

I too have decided to join the party, although I probably won't play games on it much (The Show sounds tasty, however). I'm getting a 40" Bravia V3000 and the 20GB PS3. Yay free stuff.

If the Leafs trade Kaberle then they'd be moving arguably the only player on the team who actually earns the money that he's paid, or even maybe plays beyond what he's paid. He's under contract for a few more years @ $4.5M/year which is fine by me, and probably any GM in the league. He's a player to...

I find the new Hot Chip album decidedly "meh", save for a few bright spots, and the full length Vampire Weekend to be "yeh". Although the charm of Vampire Weekend seems to fade with repeat listens, it's still quite a nice disc.

You can come to that same conclusion on your own, provided your television has the ability to change the channel.

So the Leafs beat the Red Wings (and an admittedly shaky Dominik Hasek) today in Toronto, which means that they beat three of the top teams in the league in the span of a week, but also lost to one of the worst (Florida) 8-0. That's just about enough to give me a tiny bit of hope for the playoffs bu...
