Re: Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5

I'd be willing to bet that you'll be able to get a system either via pre-order leading up to launch or even at a retailer on launch day. I'm banking on that. Also no worries if I must wait until Black Friday or early December. There will be no deals on the X or S, but there should be more units in ...

Re: Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5

Struck out here. But I also didn't check much after about noon (ET). Having a Series X on release day would have been nice, but it's not up there with food, water, music and MILF porn among life's necessities.

I'll get one eventually, probably around Black Friday.

Re: Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5

You would think in this era of kickstarter that they could come up with a better way. Maybe offer your Live subscribers a way to preorder then you know how many to make. Both these companies just love the PR this type of bullshit give them. I don't understand why it would be so difficult for there ...

Best Buy up now. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/microsoft-xbox-series-x-1tb-console-black/6428324.p?skuId=6428324 Have it in my cart but it won’t let me checkout. Same. Hit Checkout probably 30 times, with no luck. Finally got a message saying Series X was no longer available. Oh, well: I'll live.

Re: Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5

I got as far the Place Order at Target and then was told it was unavailable. :x Damn bots! Same. Had one in my cart, but it eventually vanished. I wasn't too keen on that deal, anyways, as store pickup wasn't available. Shipping said it might arrive by Nov. 16, nearly a week after release. No dice....

Re: Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5

Xbox Series X/S preorders are just as much of a lottery as I expected. Every major outlet's website was either locked up, down, sold out or queued at 11:02 a.m. ET, at least for me.

Congrats to those who snagged one. If I have to wait until Black Friday or closer to Christmas, c'est la vie.

Re: Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5

When I had the trial none of the games really appealed to me. I see now they have RDR2 but I already own that. So probably won’t get it if I won’t play those games they offer. But if they improve it I’m interested in checking it out. Will keep my eye on it. There are more than 200 games on GamePass...

Re: Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5

Never got on the game pass train. Don’t you pay a monthly fee ? Is it $10 a month or $15 a month and you get xblive? Are they keeping the same price for next gen? It's a monthly fee, yes. I've seen nothing about price increases. This feels like taking a billy club to a dead pony, but GamePass is EA...

Your big announcement came about 10 days ago when Microsoft announced EA Play would be included in the price of GamePass.

Imagine the Indy 500 with just Penske and a bunch of minnows. No Ganassi. No Andretti. No Arrow McLaren SP. That's the marquee class this year at Le Mans, P1. It was Toyota versus the three dwarfs -- five cars in your premier class? LMP 2 is like Moto 2 - it's full of machines and competitive, but i...

Important fact: Microsoft has the cash reserves to play the long game. Plus gaming isn't even close to its largest division, as Microsoft makes most of its money from cloud computing, operating systems and productivity and business software. Sony relies more and more on the revenue from its gaming d...

Re: Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5

Absolutely on Dreamcast, Gregg. That launch lineup was KILLER. But you could say that about nearly all of the exclusives and funky SEGA titles for the life of that system. I still had more pure fun on the DC than any console I've played.

Re: Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5

WCO makes a good point. Other than Halo and Project Gotham, the Xbox's original launch lineup was lukewarm. The 360 launch lineup sucked, with Amped 3 and Project Gotham 3 as really the only interesting exclusives. The Xbox One had Forza 5 and Ryse as exclusives at launch. Yawn. Interesting look bac...

With this pricing Sony fans will stay put, enjoy their game exclusives along the added Plus which is nice. MS fans will continue to enjoy Live along the gamepass, but now that everyone knows how much each system costs, I don’t see many people crossing over the river. Either way. Yep. There aren't t...

Sony's hook again will be exclusives and good for them. Microsoft's hook will also be their exclusives and Game Pass and good for them. Any games that you want to take advantage of the Xbox Series X will need to be copied to the SSD. Otherwise you can still play them off an external HDD.
Another reason to get an X instead of an S: 1 TB SSD instead of 500 GB.

Now i’m confused about this EA Play thing. I went to download FIFa 20 which I thought was part of the Vault and it only gave me the option of trial play or to buy. I downloaded the EA Play app and it asks if I want to join.
The EA-XBL fusion doesn't happen until the holidays, I think.

Roller Champions: "Rollerball" in video game form coming soon

Ubisoft is working on a new game called Roller Champions. It reminds me a lot of that dystopian sports classic movie from the 70s, "Rollerball," starring James Caan:
